You know where it went wrong & more importantly why it did.
Take the no pass ( I don't care for the word failure, as that implies lack of effort/trying, well to me anyways ) as a dummy run, take a few breaths before each manouver, don't think about what comes next, but about what examiner is asking you to do there & then.

You will get it together next time fella & @ 39 you're only a pup so not as if you need your licence next week after all is it?.

Good luck & let us know you've passed the next one yeah Wink

Mod 1 is a big hairy bag o shit tbh not anything like riding on the road - except when there is roadworks Smile BUT you have to jump through the hoops (almost literally ....for now) and get on with it.
I started late like you and if you have been driving your road/spider sense etc will make mod 2 a lot easier for you.

Fruck em', fruck it and get booked again ... its the price of 20 fags and a bottle of wine - so skip breakfast tomo to pay for it Smile
I crashed on my CBT on the practice pad with no one anywhere near me and there are many, many people on here who also landed their license in a less than elegant/straight forward manner.
The best thing about your post is the fact you know what to do next time and are not blaming the world/their 125's engine/the government/lack of rain/too much rain/aliens or whoever the fruck comes to mind - like many posts Smile

You will pass soon enough and have the whole British winter to begin to learn in.

Just do it again, it's no big deal. There's plenty of people on here that didn't pass all the test rigmarole first time.

If you've got your own bike, just go out in your own time and practice, practice (cue Mike and his Time on a tiddler is rarely wasted treatise).

As others have said, it's no biggie.
I managed to fail mine yesterday - on (what I considered to be) the easiest part! Manual handling - screwed the angle up and instead of repositioning it and taking a rider fault, I carried on hoping it would miss the cone...it didn't!
I was gutted but carried on with the rest with no other faults. Even managed 55 on the e-stop and 53 on the avoidance (not bad for my bike!)
Now also hoping for an early cancellation Smile

Sounds like Mod 1 is a joke.

I mean, you can't touch a cone whilst moving your bike as its an instant fail, yet if you forget to do a lifesaver you just get a minor and can still pass, even though that 1 forgotten lifesaver 'could' have seen you killed in real life.

I'm sure not many people have been killed moving their bike 10 foot.

Keep positive and I'm sure you'll pass next time.

If you believe that "mod 1 is a joke", then it appears that you are simply not taking biking seriously enough.

Mod 1 is simply about applying ones concentration for a total of approx 10 mins - a far shorter time than you'd most likely need to do on any ride at any given time & on any day of the week.

the truth re: common sense - a fact that many of us simply won't MTFUT is that common sense aint't that common.

Wether you're just "nipping down t' shop" or going on a 2-300 mile ride you should always apply the same train of thought regardless.

IF the shit does hit the fan, then you can blame who'm you wish, but imperratively a large proportin - although us bikers may not care to admit it, is down to things like over confidence or believing we are better bikers than we actually are.

That IMHO is when the " treat every ride approach " as if joe public in his cage don't give a toss nor necessarily look for you is the time your approach will (hopefully) pay off in your favour.

Think you've overreacted a tad, I was just saying Mod 1 is (tongue in cheek) a joke because you can fail for clipping a cone whilst pushing your bike round, yet still pass even if you forget a lifesaver....(which in the real world could see you dead....I don't think clipping a kerb while moving your bike is as life threatening, hence why I think that rule is a joke)

I certainly didn't mean that the WHOLE idea of the Mod 1 is a joke, just the way some of it is implemented. The same with the theory test, imho its far far too easy and the hazard perception IS a joke. Imho the hazard perception should be part of the road test.

Just my opinion though.

You haven't failed...... You just haven't jumped through that particular hoop yet! Rebook, redo, pass, feel good Thumbs Up

Could be worse though, I have three attempts at passing mod 1 and my best screw up was doing a perfect test all the way to the emergency stop before leaving the test pad. I was too hard on the rear brake, locked up the back wheel and left a nice streak down the tarmac! The examiner was suprised that I kept the bike upright and controlled, then told me I would have passed with a clean sheet if it weren't for that!

You may appear correct in assuming I may have overreacted a tad - I'm not going to neither disagee nor agree with that statement. However my personal interpration - be it correct or incorrect is that from the very 1st up to & including the very last rudiment of mod 1 - is to show a level of control throughout all aspects whilst within the MMA environment.

Hey - we can all balls it up & I'm not saying any of us are perfect - jeeees!!! far from it if truth be told, but much alike any other test/exam etc: it all comes down to how we perform the given task on the day & if the deep brown smelly stuff hits the fan, then so be it. For the sake of £15.50 it just ain't worth crippling yourself over.

If you happen to not pass ( deliberate none use of the Fail... word), then at least you know why & how to correct it next time.

Just get it rebooked - nail the mofo next time & I shall be one of the 1st to give you congrats o n a good job well done Thumbs Up Very Happy Thumbs Up

Certainly not gent, I arsed up the swerve avoidance by hitting a cone. Entirely my fault as I 'lost' concentration, it was a setback purely because I was eager to start my Mod 2 training. I re-booked and passed a week later with no minors, 2 weeks later I was doing my Mod 2 training and the initial 'fail' was a distant memory. It's all part of the course really, some people will go straight through the whole process without a glitch and others won't. Get another test date, be confident that you know you're more than capable of getting through each part of the test and crack on. I felt a lot more relaxed second time around, I knew first hand what the test would be like etc. Let us know how the retest goes. Thumbs Up

Cool. Minors don't really matter much unless you get the prize for 3 in a row.

Do your mod 2 and you're sweet as a nut.
