 |
|
I find that when I get bored on my commute I start riding way too aggressively which gets a bit dangerous.
So I starting playing little games on the commute to keep me occupied.
The first I started doing was trying to get to work without using the brakes, just coasting up to junctions and roundabouts, this took about 2 weeks to "win" because of all the idiots on the road. Was especially hard during the Olympics as I am commuting into Weymouth and the Europeans cant drive on our roads.
Now I'm trying to get to work without putting my feet down, sounds a lot easier than it is, I've had a few close calls trying to track stand at traffic lights.
So does anyone else on BCF play games on commutes to keep them interesting ____________________ Current Bikes:Honda 929RR Fireblade, Honda CD200 Benly (Project), Stomp Z2 140

Awesome game ideas
How about, just a few thrown out there..
If you're with a mate (for moral support), you've got to beep your horn for the whole journey. Even when stationary. And record it. And also not get f**** by the police for it. Serious karma.
You're only allowed to go HALF of the speed limit in the area you're in. ____________________ Left the forum. |

I try and figure how fast do I need to go to get to each traffic light before it turns red
Or look at a fucknut driving cage, and try and describe the person driving to myself before I overtake them. Improve my stereotyping and profiling skills ____________________ 2011 KTM 990 Dakar

LOL. I guess that is why when you lane split and stop next to a pretty girl you must stare into her cage and down at her fanny ____________________ 2011 KTM 990 Dakar

The only two i've played are the two you already do.
The feet one in particular when i was commuting in Southampton as the number of traffic lights in the city centre is mental. It's good tho, i used to do as the norm in the end. I was a bit pleased when on a ride with a friend who was a much better rider than me (ex-dispatcher) and he was aghast at how i could sit at the lights for yonks without putting my feet down with no apparent effort.
Also tearing over speed bumps (junior kickstart stylee) instead of going around them. Probably not what Kawasaki had in mind for the GT550 when they built it but meh Make sure your footpegs are ok tho, you don't want to break one and have a knackers-to-tank splat-incident
When living with partners we'd swap bikes for the day to break the boredom. One partner and i had two bikes each and used to commute on the dinky bikes every whip and flip for the giggle value (they're more fun when you've been off them for a while). ____________________ smile and be happy. . . .it gets right on everyone's tits! |

My old XJ600 had a problem with the clutch for 2 weeks before I "fixed" it by buying a new bike. It meant I had no clutch for 2 weeks though and used the bike daily for work. I'd have to bump start it by coasting in neutral then clicking it into first or second and jumping on the seat simultaneously then not stop until I got to where I was going. It was a lot harder than I thought it'd be, especially at junctions or approaching red traffic lights.
I can't say it was particularly fun for a whole 2 weeks but might be worth a go in the knowledge that if you do absolutely have to stop you can just pull the clutch in ____________________ Now: '00 Kawasaki ZRX1100R - Past: '84 Yamaha DT125, '89 Kawasaki KLR600, '97 Yamaha XJ600N

I don't really get bored as such. Its too busy to get bored, traffic is too heavy and you have to concentrate.
But similarly to several others, the only game I really play is "How long can I keep my feet on the pegs".
Although "Can I squeeze through that gap without putting my feet down or touching the sides" is also another one.
I quite like to play "Will that twat on the sportsbike fall for my throttle-twatting, and hare off like a spaz whilst I pootle along in a more ladylike fashion as if I never really intended to race him at all." - I often win that one, but possibly because boys will be boys.
My summertime favourite (in keeping with the above theme) quite often actually is "How low-cut a top can I get away with, without distracting the traffic".
Its possible that in the winter I play the reverse game of "Can the other motorists tell from my nipples How Cold I Am in this blouse?" ... but usually I have my jacket zipped up ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

When I need to take a leak, but nowhere to pull over, I often try to see if I can dislodge a fart without pissing my pants.
I failed yesterday  ____________________ My Bikes: Lifan Beat 125cc '11 -> Suzuki B120P '76 -> Suzuki EN 125-2A '08 -> Honda CG 125 '04 -> Honda CB600F Hornet '98 -> Kawasaki ZZR 600 '99 -> Kawasaki GPZ 500S '95 (Current)
