We had a news show last night on Julian Assange. he is holed up in London in the Ecuadorian embassy seeking asylum.

He had sex with 2 women in sweden, was seen with them before and after, was invited to stay in their homes, now these women laid rape charges against him. WTF?

Apparently he doesnt want to go back to sweden to defend himself as he fears the swedes will kiss the yanks arses and extradite him to the USA.

Brought down by 2 women. The dangers of casual sex. Any woman can lay rape charges and you are done.

Coincidence you are posting this just as Wikileaks reveals some new documents showing some US surveillance system that taps into already working security cameras?

You can imagine the conversation in the Shite House:

"Shall we just kill him, Bub?"

"No, thats too obvious and the world may suspect we did it"

"Ok, lets fabricate a sex scandal, discredit him, ruin his life then once he's in one of our jails have a big black cellmate ravage his lilly ass until his guts come out of his mouth, give him AIDS and we can all watch him have a slow, agonising death."

"Sounds good to me.... more pizza, Coke and popcorn!!!"

It makes you think what those women got for laying those charges. And the swedes said he was free to go as they knew the rape is bogus. They figured he would never come back, make him a fugitive, and expose him to US extradtion.

the request that he will come face the charges if he has a guarantee the US wont push for extradition seems a reasonable one.

is this what the CIA or FBI call themselves now?

I guess they will be starting a campaign to make Ecuador the number one threat to world peace, a nation that must be bombed as harbouring terrorists and developing WMDs and all the rest...

They will use any Human Rights abuse and any state terror tactic to prove Human Rights abuse and terrorism.

The allegations that were put to the courts here were as follows:

"When Assange appeared before a London court following his arrest on Tuesday, Gemma Lindfield, representing the Swedish authorities, told the judge that Assange was wanted in connection with four allegations made by two women.

She told the court the first complainant, identified only as Miss A, said she was victim of "unlawful coercion" on the night of August 14 this year in Stockholm.

The court heard Assange is accused of using his body weight to hold her down in a sexual manner.

The second charge alleged Assange "sexually molested" Miss A by having sex with her without a condom when it was her "express wish" one should be used.

The third charge claimed Assange "deliberately molested" Miss A on August 18 "in a way designed to violate her sexual integrity".

The fourth charge accused Assange of having sex with a second woman, Miss W, on August 17 without a condom while she was asleep at her Stockholm home.

The first three allegations might be argued as shared responsibility as there was apparently continued consensual sexual activity after each of these if the version presented by Assange's PR team are true. The fourth is out and out rape - you can't consent when you're asleep - it's a disgusting thing to do again if the facts are true.

In any event, all we have at the moment is speculation and PR spin. It would need to go before a court to look at the facts presented and decide whether the allegations had any foundation.

Assange is a complete dickhead - not for the Wikileaks releases, but for his general behaviour. There's no risk of extradition to the US - neither Swedish nor EU law as it stands would permit it - so if he's innocent, why not have his day in court and let it all come out?

Because he'd probably get locked up still. The only reason they give a shit is because of wikileaks.
It's a media circus, designed to tarnish his reputation to make the leaks less 'believable'

I think the women were paid to lie, a lot.

It all has the smell of the typcial american sex scandal.

the fact that the 2 women got together beforehand to lay charges seems strange. And too well timed with this attack on wiki leaks. As if to reduce sympthathy for the ddos attack on his site (whihc is illegal).

Are you?

This came out like a year+ ago, at the same time as wikileaks was thrown into the spotlight, then given Time's man of the year.

Quote:
On 4 November 2010, Julian Assange told Swiss public television TSR that he is seriously considering seeking political asylum in neutral Switzerland and setting up a WikiLeaks foundation to move the operation there.[57][58] According to Assange, Switzerland and Iceland are the only countries where WikiLeaks would feel safe to operate.

Quote:
In 2010, a European Arrest Warrant was issued for Assange in relation to allegations of rape and sexual assault by a lawyer representing of two women in Sweden. Assange was arrested in the United Kingdom, and was freed on bail after ten days in Wandsworth prison. On 30 May 2012, Assange lost his Supreme Court appeal to prevent extradition to Sweden.[220][221] Barring any appeal to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, extradition had been expected to take place over a ten day period commencing on 28 June 2012.[222]

Read up on it and stop being newspaper zombies Thumbs Up

Here's an interesting snippet
Quote:
In 2011, court records revealed that in 1993, Assange helped the Victoria Police Child Exploitation Unit by providing technical advice and assisted in prosecuting persons.[57]
bet noone of you heard about that?

The basics are Julian (crap name for any bloke) decided he was the big cheese at Wiki, the power went to his head as it does with all people at the top of any company/group, he decided to have some fun, the ladies were up to it at first then remembered his name was Julian, said no or only if you bag up, he carried on because he thinks he is top banana. The girls did what any girl should do when a bloke does the naughty.
Julian the coward ran away and now claims any theory to hide behind. His sheep bleet his defence and keep on with the theory of crap.

Julian Assange is a dick (and the lawyer he had working for him was a pretentious gut-barging A-hole) but WikiLeaks was an excellent source of information and it NEVER compromised security; everything on WikiLeaks was just condensed versions of material that was already available if you knew where to look.

The "rape" charge everyone talks about was actually - at least originally - a claim of sexual assault, not rape but the Americans are determined to get their hands on Julian Assange because he embarrassed the Administration and they plan to do it by having him extradited to Sweden and then the Swedes will hand him over to them. If Julian Assange is guilty of anything, he's guilty of nothing more than some loutish drunken groping with a pair of village bicycles, not rape; the rape charge is trumped-up BS.

What is interesting is what Ecuador will do. He cant stay in the embassy forever. If he walks out it is arrest and deportation.

And why is it no one has tried to prosecute the hackers for illegal DDos attacks?

Because it's a DDOS attack - the clue is in the distributed part. It takes time and a lot of work to track down the bot master(s) who (if they're competent) will have used a number of techniques to obscure their source IP addresses. Once they know who they are, prosecutions will probably follow - if they're in a part of the world that permits prosecution of course.

The operative word being group. Not individuals. You don't prosecute a group, you prosecute individuals. There will be forensic work going on in the background but it takes time to gather evidence to prove the actions of individuals.
