Do you hate it when pedestrians are crossing the road and walk RIGHT close to your bike? Like they're practically about to walk in front of you but because they time their walk, they go about 6 inches from your back tire.

With a car, i can understand and wouldn't care. I'm in a big metal box, if my tire touches you, i'll barely feel it. But on a bike, i feel so exposed it makes me feel like they're about to kick me off...

Just something, i bet you're all gonna be like MTFU. xD

Yeah. To be fair though I weigh a good 82kg, and my bike is 185kg, so I reckon if someone did walk in front of me I'd have them bowled over faster than you can blink. Laughing I reckon I'll manage to stay upright. Razz

Yes. Especially when they carry on walking in front of you then you hit them, that's really annoying.

Yes, not because I'm worried about them knocking me off or anything, I'm just worried about hitting them. So when they walk out they get more of my attention and I usually end up dropping my speed because I'm unsure of exactly what they're going to do.

I'd be more worried about hitting them and them crying wolf about it than I would be of getting knocked off by a slow pedestrian grazing my rear wheel.

Exactly. I find people walk in front of bikes more because they think "Oh its just a bike"

don't realise how much there is to braking and not locking up, they aren't as scared of walking in front of bikes because they think they wont get hurt and it'll be the riders fault

So I recommend we all fit spears to the front of our bikes

Just clutch in and revv the bike to the limiter. When I was running my stubbied/gutted cans it would spit flames and make an almightly sound. Shocked People couldnt jump back onto the pavements fast enough. Laughing

If someone tailgates my car - I clutch in and rev the bollocks off of it.

It's an elderly diesel that spews forth thick black clouds of diesel flavoured smoke. The smoke blocks headlights at night and engulfs whole cars in the day. They tend to back off pretty quickly either way.

An Italian tune up gets it through MOTs Thumbs Up .

Did this the other day in London to a bunch of tourists crossing head down on agreed light. Those in the road ran like buggery, those at the side just shook their head at me.

That's the problem with revving/horn - the one doing it just looks like a dick whatever the real situation.

There were times when I had a 550 with open exhaust, literally open: https://i970.photobucket.com/albums/ae184/RhynoCZ/New%20exhaust%20system/Fotografie-0011.jpg
I rode it like this once in a while and there was no single person who would even come near the road Twisted Evil

Now, I've got smaller bike, with original exhaust so people cross the road even if they stand on pedestrian crossing while having the red telling them do not cross right now you idiot because the bike is very quiet, they think it's far and they've got aplenty of time to cross the road Doh!

Is someone here planning to start thread about car drivers? Laughing Sometimes it feels like, if they can't hear you, then they don't see you. Thinking

I haven't had problems with people walking behind me (here's me now touching wood Embarassed ).
What I get is pedestrians crossing the road, not looking, on their 'phone.
I really must get a louder horn Rolling Eyes

I don't mind pedestrians crossing the road, timing it so that they cross behind you. I do it myself when crossing the road, though not as close to bikes as to cars, as bikes can change direction a lot faster and have more bits that stick out causing pain to everyone involved.

But pedestrians that cross the road in front of you, on red light pedestrian crossings, see you coming, and either start crossing or make no effort to move a little faster, those guys do annoy me.

But so far, I've only hit one pedestrian!

(A guy who started crossing as the lights went green, across multiple lanes, changed his mind, then ran backwards - i.e. without turning around - as I was starting to move. Just knocked the drink bottle out of his hand, I came off far worse, with a twisted ankle.)

Sometimes when the road is clogged and there is no gap for lane splitting, I just take the gravel, or the pavement if there is one.

When a big KTM with a bright orange light and a 100 kg rider comes hurtling and roaring down spitting gravel, the pedestrians make way. Mr. Green

If it looks like you're going to hit someone, then I understand that you can always lay the bike down on its side. Whistle

It would be great if he had a harley. If he laid it down and let it slide, 350 kg of chrome would take out pedestrains like a bowling ball taking out pins Mr. Green

I remember a young lady crossing the road against the lights, I was coming to turn left onto the street she'd just crossed so I took the corner wide to avoid her. She started looking at me as she scurried along and tripped onto the curb, splat!

What fucks me off is when there's a right turn signal you're waiting to come on, and they start crossing (against the lights) so when the green arrow comes on you've got mouthbreathers still shambling across the road in front of you.

I waited my turn, cunts, wait yours.

I rarely go into fishwifery mode at any other time these days, other than when shouting at pedestrians in Central London crossing the road whilst I have a green light.

They stare at you, as you approach, as if to say "Go on, I dare you to keep coming". And they seem to have an attitude like "I'm a tourist, so it doesn't count, I can stroll anywhere cos I are on holiday."

No. This is one of the largest cities in the world.

It is not Bumfuck Alaska, Doohick Nebraska, or fucking Eastbourne, Tahiti, Havana, Lagos, Margate, Suva, Goa, or any other jungle holiday town of the world where everybody takes their fucking time. It's LONDON and its cosmopolitan, busy and has roads full of traffic and people who need to be somewhere else much more urgently than you do, strolling along with your lovely fucking family in the middle of the road as if you were in the fucking Friendly Isles.

So when I rev loudly and brake and roar past screaming "GEDOUDDATHEFUCKINWAY!" - they don't like it very much.

*fume*

Did the nearest road sign pole to your house mysteriously lose 18 inches in height when you made that can?

Don't make me paint diagram. She was just reaching the curb as I passed the white stop line on the road I was turning from.
