Hey guys my dad is looking to buy a 125 to get into riding, so I decided to have a look and help him in his search. So far i've come across a 2004 cg with 4.5k miles on the clock for an asking price of £860. would £800 be a fairly good price to buy and then sell for the same? He's just a bit interested after riding pillion on my bike for the first time in his 50 years!
Thanks for the help.

Sounds a fairly good deal to me, providing it's been well-looked after. I'd be a bit careful with such low mileage though, have a good check over it.

Also has been MOT'd and taxed till next year, is there anything particular to look out for regarding CGs? I'm not very mechanically minded to say the least to know if it was a lemon or not.

Well, you don't have to listen for camchain rattles. Wink

Just the usual. Two tyres, no leaking on the shocks, check all the electrics work and that the subframe is appropriately twisted. Some evidence of it having oil changes done would be great, but if it starts from cold and rides OK, it probably is OK.

The photos do indeed show two tyres, Unfortunately though the sub frame does appear to be untwisted, so maybe a few crash tests could sort that right out. Thanks for the help folks.

And in the interest of saving creating a new thread, i've been shamefully trying to fit a scottoiler for more days than I care to admit, could someone kindly point out this elusive vacuum point? The bike in question is an ER6N 2011.

That's a decent price for a 125, considering how well they hold there value. Just make sure it's not a pretty ringer, check everything! Or you could leave yourself open to being stung...
