Hi all,

I was just checking my bill and noticed my DesireHD was up for renewal, so I've ordered an iphone.
My original plan was to save up and buy a garmin and use a ram mount. So, what's the best way to use the iphone as a satnav? I would like to mount it on the handle bars, but also want it waterproofed (and powered?)

Also, will an iphone do bluetooth to my n-com?

Any idea's?
Cheers

AFAIK it should do... it'll just treat it as a bluetooth headset

as above, should connect to a bluetooth 'handsfree' just fine.

mine connects to my parrot one inbuilt into my car stereo fine Smile

for satnav id recommend 'navfree'. you can buy tomtom etc.. if you wish but i've found navfree to be a superb satnav and best of all (you guessed yet?) its free!!

some people like skobbler but when i tried it i thought it was naff.

plenty of mounts out there too. should be able to find a ram mount for an iphone with waterproof case without too much difficulty.

I thought that too, but couldn't find one on their website. I'll have a proper look from home though.

Do you think with navfree (or any satnav) that you need to be able to see the screen or will audio alone be ok?

Thanks

Actually, there are loads of options on the ram mount site. Please ignore my stupidity.

I just put mine in my pocket and use the left earbud only from some earphones. I just use the audio directions and have never had a problem, don't really need to see them too.
