Hello all

I'm thinking about buying a Colortune. 3 sizes are available, 10mm, 12mm and 14mm. I need guidance on which one to get.

I'm going to use on 10mm and 12mm plugs. If I buy a 12mm Colortune will the standard Colortune 10mm converter fit, or should I buy the 14mm size, a 10mm converter and a 12mm converter ?

Thanks
Stu

I would check what adapters you can get, and if you can get any/all I would buy the 10mm kit and adapters for the larger threads. The reason is, if you buy the larger kit it might not fit down the plug well on other bikes that use a 10mm plug.

I'd do some research on the adapters.

Thanks for the reply and I like your logic. From what I can see on ebay the adaptors go down not up. So looks like I should buy a 12mm version and a 10mm converter

Makes sense.

So, the last piece of the puzzle is does the 10mm adaptor convert 12mm to 10mm or the 14mm standard size to 10mm.

I've emailed Gunsons to ask for clarification.

I got one of these in link last week it converts 14mm standard size
down to 10mm . and also converts hi - gauge ( pressure gauge) down to 10mm.

Thanks for the reply.

Does it convert 12mm down to 10mm ?

A 14mm Colortune is too big to fit my bike and I'm trying to get a solution that will work with 12mm and 10mm plugs.

The adaptor in the link converts a standard 14mm Colortune down to 10 mm,
you would have to buy another adaptor that converts a standard colortune down to 12mm .

If you buy a standard colortune and buy the two converters you can then use the colortune in 14mm / 12 mm / 10mm Plug Threads .......

This photo is of the original colortune that i brought about 42 years ago and the later colortune version that uses the long black tub ,
the original one still works but you have to use it in a darkened garage or in the dark to see the colour of the mixture properly as its being ignited .
