Grinder with a wire wheel head on it, take all the paint off the metal bits.
Get a hairdryer on all stickers, remove them. Wash with petrol to get the sticky shite off.
https://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o574/_Iain_/8d93cd42.jpg
Scrub all plastics till they go dull with a kitchen scourer. The metal coils type one, not a brillo pad.
Wash everything with water, and dry with a tissue till its as dry as it's going to get. Dont touch the panels or anything at that stage as the grease off your fingers will fuck the paint.
Spray in satin paint only, it hides any rattle tin imperfections. Black, white, blue whatever. As long as it is SATIN. Not gloss, not matte.

Frame, tank and rear plastics have been done using the method above on this bike. Diddnt bother doing the tank as well as i perhaps could've as it was dented and generally fooked. Hence the finish isn't quite as good! Take your time and put lots of coats on and it'll come up good.
£30 as a job lot for the cans of spray on ebay
£5 for the grinder head from arkle auto parts
£1 for a pack of scourers from tesco
£10 for a can of petrol...Although, the leftovers go in the petrol tank, so possibly less.
Grinders are about £40, and i cheated and used the cooker to heat the plastics to get the stickers off. fired up all four gas burners and held it just under the cooker hood till it got hot enough to peel right off.
OR
Consider a vinyl wrap? Bit more expensive, but you could get something properly unique done. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

Make's it look so easy, but yes that's how it's done, i used a heat gun to get the stickers off, about 15cm to 20cm away and they all came off in no time
if your looking for a good finish though i would suggest taking them to a professional around your area, maybe would cost £200 maybe more maybe less, it's worth it if you think it's worth it

Thanks for all the info!, I'm particularly liking the Matt Black vinyl wrap.
I will continue to ride it as it is until I can sort it. I'm not usually so fussy but I HATE pink ____________________ Current Bikes: CBR400RR NC29 (knackered) & ZZR600 D1 (Pinky Grrrr!) |

DIY wrapping isnt as easy as some make it out to be
Then you get into the specific type of vinyl and a load of other complicated bollocks 3M and stuff. Specialist job realy if you want a realy good finish. Unless you have "the gift"
I realy need to find out about getting a tank wrapped. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

Pup-Project: Honda CB125TD-C; Resto & Beyond...
Snowies a girlie.... she did it herself..... and a PROPPA good job we all think too! (Especially for a first timer!)
https://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x349/snowtigeress/plastics%20and%20tank/imag1406.jpg
Its ALL in the 'Prep'.....
https://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x349/snowtigeress/Decals/100_0588.jpg
And then the attension to detail!
Ultimately she went from THIS:-

To this:-
https://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x349/snowtigeress/the%20pup/101_0042.jpg
Bit more than a lick of paint went into it, though, she spent a whole year taking it down to component parts and building it back up like 'new'.
Paint-Work, I think accounted for aprox £200's worth..... but chunk of that was custom cut decals for finishing touch, and bare metal build up with primer, and colour coat and specialist plastic primer for plastic bits and then laquer over the top with petrol proof where its useful.
Depends how diligent you want to be, and how good a result you'll be happy with.
BUT, paint costs the same whether you do a good job or a bad.....
Its ALL in teh preparation & attension to detail! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

Honestly though. Try using t-cut. It'll probably go back to being properly red and this is by far the cheapest and easiest option.
T-cut is a mildly abrasive colour restorer liquid. I just did my 10 year old suzuki jeep with the stuff. It was looking a kind of faded, dull pink colour and now it looks like it did when it came out of the showroom. I jokingly said I was putting £100 on the price of it but I honestly think it's closer to £150 when you see it done.
An 80's/90's original kawasaki paint finish should come up beautifully because they used really expensive to do, multi-coat finishes. It wont just be red, it'll be candy red which I think is a 12 coat paint job.
Once it's t-cut, seal it with a good wax or resin polish to keep the sunlight from fading it again.
