Has anyone ever actually fitted something like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7jF_p5S9cI

Cant really see the benefit especially once you're actually out riding, wouldnt wind noise just drown the sound out? Also you would look a bit of an idiot going through town with the tinny sound blasting out.

This is pointless, the bike and windy would drown out the sound Thumbs Down

The people that buy these are the local 16 year old's in town, riding through town with their 4 stroke baotions playing grime music Laughing

i think they're handy in social events like meets and stuff to get some background music going otherwise not really, i mean most have a headphone jack but speakers while riding the wind would cancel it out as you say

I would just buy a cheap MP3 player to keep in my jacket & just use earphones. Probably end up being cheaper, sound better and the wind noise wouldn't be as bad.

Don't do it. I still recoil in horror when remembering a lad at college who fitted some 'speakers' to his RS50. Butchering a nice Harada replica by cutting ill fitting hexagonal holes in the fairings and botching in nondescript underpowered tinny speakers complete with requisite gyppo looking wiring and half a roll of electrical tape.

I am sure various honeys was well imprezzed wi da Vengaboys just audible if everyone was quiet and stood no further that two feet away from the jaw dropping soundsystem. Last seen on McDonalds car park in Leyland with a flat battery circa 2001.

Speaking as someone who has a non-fag model of that bike in the garage (my dad's bike), I couldn't agree with you more. Let's see...

Gay screen
Studded leather tank bib & purses
Leather tool roll
Sissy bar
"Live To Ride" shite all over it
Rails around the mudguards
Reflectors and sidelights everywhere

Etc etc.

(Before any disingenous bastards mention my garish paint job I'll get it in first.)

Just to clarify, I wasn't suggesting that cruisers as a genre are homofag, I quite frankly coudn't give a toss what type of bike people ride and I do like the look of many non HD cruisers (typically the ones without much chrome).

What I meant was, the owner of the bike in the vid has succumbed to every homoerotic American stereotype known to man. His bike IS a testament to vanity, and worthy of derision. The list is pretty much the bits that I Laughing and Sick at in equal measure.

Which is more naff, the bike or the sound system?

He's got a strange vanity, for certain.
