Hi,
Booked my mod 2 for tomorrow afternoon (in Mitcham) and getting kind of worriedas my bike is running like a piece of shite.

Every time I put on or ease off the throttle, the bike jerks. Plus it vibrates like a bitch.

Just a bit of panic is all...

As a rule, CG's vibrate.. Take it from me I have one too. Tbh most 125's do!

The throttle jerkiness? It could be you putting the throttle on/turning it off too quickly, but it could also be a wearing throttle cable among other things.. If you are being really delicate and smooth with your application of the throttle and it's still jerking, maybe consider a new cable. Obviously that wouldn't be doable before your test but if it persists - it's probably just jitters in your hand at this stage mate!

I was bombing about on a kymco ck, which is a CG clone, apparently, kymco used to make the parts for honda..dunno how true that is though.

Anyways, jerkiness on the throttle on low gears/slow speeds was an indication I needed to tighten the chain.

I also found it vibrated a fair bit, enough for a decent nutsack massage.

Thanks kotatchi

They're cache sounds like something it could be. I have been ririding this bike for over a year and a half so I'm not new to it!

Probably possible to change the cable today if I had the energy, but will do that in the week.

My advice would be go for a ride before your MOD 2 Booking, and see if it play's up ( jerkyness ) if it's fine go on and do your MOD 2, last thing you need is to fail your MOD 2 due to to a temperamental bike Thumbs Up

if it does play up before the test rent one of their 125's Thumbs Up

Are you under the impression that DSA test centres rent out test bikes? Eh?

Please don't be that guy from Tef's story who turned up at the training school where he did his CBT and demanded to sit the test he'd booked with the DSA. Doh! Very Happy

Training school, not cheap bike rental shop.

Why on earth would they rent out a bike to some Johnny Randompunter who they'll never see again? Have you done this, or do you know anyone who has?

None of the school around here would 'rent' a bike to anyone that isn't going through training with them. Wink

In case it wasn't clear to every one - I am not usin gany training school at all.

on another note, I adjusted the throttle cable and it's made a difference, but do now agree that the chain needs adjusting.

Also have a new battery as of today so at least the electrics now work properly!

Good stuff, chain is 5 minutes to dial in. It's probably worth getting some oil (engine is fine) down the throttle cable as well in case it's just dry.
