There are some things cool and some things scarily true about it. Bleak, sparse houses, long pauses in normal conversation etc.

Would you really want that?

Interesting stuff. I can see how some of the things would be really handy. But some would be really hard to live with. So much info would leave me with serious headaches.

Ending was a bit inappropriate. I can't imagine that people would so willingly sign up for cortical hacks like that - I know that the general populace is usually pretty ignorant and uninterested in the working details, but that's massively open to abuse.

I think in a lot of ways we are like that now.

How often for example do you see a couple of friends in a bar both staring at their phones?

Instant information = information overload.

I do it and catch myself doing it!

I do think the ending was a bit strange but its one way to end it I guess.

the best holiday I have had was one where no phones worked, no Tv. Just chilling chatting, reading and drinking some wine.

Made me realise what it means to relax that does not involve instant info or angry birds....

I think it's an interesting take on the whole subject. You can tell it's been made by people who are into tech, gadgets and augmented shizzle, as it's so polished, they loved making that.

But then the twist at the end comes up, it is uncomfortable yes. Doesn't seem to sit right with the tones of the rest of the film. I don't think it's made to show what could happen if you pursue this augmented reality path, I think it's a statement to show that already we're so reliant on technology. We'd be happy to make a game of chopping cucumbers up, or get the egg in the score zone, but how much of ourselves would we be willing to give up to get there.

I completely agree with Neorion - when I'm properly on holiday my phone is switched off. The days seem longer, the sun seems like it's warmer, I absorb so much more of the book I'm reading and so on...

Why is it uncomfortable?
There are plenty of people around, including myself, who are just laughing at all the technology junkies now!
Currently no one is living an augmented reality, they are, in fact doing the opposite, suspending reality, constantly playing games, texting meaningless drivel, living out their sad, uneventful, lives on the net, FFS! If that's their idea of real life they're deserving of our pity!

I think most people wouldnt even think of replacing something as vital as an eye. I think we would probably go as far as inventing glasses to do all that stuff for you.

I think they're meant to be contact lenses. I personally wouldn't mind sticking contact lenses in, with displays built in.

The ending of the film was a bit odd for me, when her eyes went red, what was that signifying? Don't quite know why she froze, as if switched off. Maybe M. Night. Shamalamadingdong was directing and she's a robot all along?

Gotta say, the ending's pretty good.
I must admit however that I hope the world won't go that far in terms of personal advancement... there are some things that shouldn't be "improved".

Why not have a night out where phones are banned?
See if any of them can do without for the night.
Don't get me wrong, I like having my phone handy but there's a time and a place for them.

Are they googling the 'art of conversation'? Rolling Eyes

Extreme (but expected for it to become viral) look at the subject. Bleak house etc.

Google is on the right path (ish) with glasses. I bet the general public would prefer to loose an ear over an eye. Our society is just too dependent on visuals.

Ending was a bit off, I don't mean uncomfortable, I mean off subject. The video was about using digital images to enhance your lifestyle and make things more convenient, then suddenly it went off onto hacking her brain. Rolling Eyes

I think Google with their glasses are a great idea, but unlike the video I think (at first at least) they will go into standby mode so you don't have the pieces there all the time.
