The EDL is about Islam, not race. There may be people who the rallies who are racist to a greater or lesser extent also, but that does not make the EDL about it. There are many instances where people within a group believe in something, but where they disagree on another issue and are in different groups on that issue. Nobody would suggest that because some members of the Labour party are against abortion, that all members of the Labour party must therefore be against abortion, yet when it comes to the EDL such reasoning becomes valid.
As for being friendly and inclusive, United Against Fascism Greenpeace, animal rights groups etc, all exclude or are unfriendly to people for different reasons. The EDL will let a Muslim join, but I doubt an animal rights group would let someone who does animal testing join, nor Greenpeace let the CEO of a major oil company join, nor the UAF let a racist join.
They are inclusive of left handed people though, aren't they?
