this guy is just a thug using "God" to assault people and charge them for the privilege

Most of these religious faith healer types just use hypnosis. If you've ever seen a videos of em it's just a demonstration of pure mass hypnosis, religious belief being the perfect vehicle to use. I know shock inductions work but a kick in the face is just a bit OTT

I grew up being baby sat on Sundays by my grandmother who did this faith healing business. It's amazing how many people she can drop to the ground. They spaz out like they are being electricuted!! Quite funny to watch.

Quite powerfull stuff if you believe in it. However i'm sure you could have the same reaction from having total faith in spam being the god almighty!

Mesmer used to drop people just by touching them with a magnetised iron rod. He got the idea after seeing a sideshow do the same thing. The sideshow like modern stage hypnotists would drop groups by starting off with a shill. Once the others see the suggestion that they'll go out like a light just by the touch of the magic rod they do. Given that they'd gone to the sideshow/mesmer for the expectation that something was going to happen, all the unsuggestable types or intentional disbelievers had already been filtered out. A stage hypnotist has to use suggestability tests to weed out the ones who either won't work, will be too much effort or won't put on a good show.

got hypnotised years ago
ate a raw onion (told me it was an Orange) then I tried to punch him in the face when he took it off me Twisted Evil
to me it was just a blank, and I was VERY sceptical before the show

There was an Indian Sadhu who used to do a similar thing - he lived up a tree, and would occasionally 'bless' people by descending from the tree and kicking then in head.

IIRC, a number of prominent politicians queued up to receive his 'blessing'.

I love a good Sadhu, my faves include Lotan Baba 'The Rolling Saint' - he rolls along the ground in order to promote peace. He's even made it into the Guiness book of records for rolling over 9000 miles. He had a roll over here a while back.
