So, I've booked my Mod1&2 for next month.
All the instructor said to me was 'You'll be ok, you ride to work every day, don't you?' Laughing

That tells me your instructor isn't worth shit. How you ride to work isn't possibly how your examiner will want to see you ride.
There's a big difference between riding to work in the real world and riding to pass your test.

He's actually a very good instructor, just havin' a giggle.
I think he just meant I have had enough road experience on a bike now not to be too nervous on the day.
He sees nervousness as the biggest barrier on tests.

Well done on getting the tests booked. Thumbs Up

I rode a 125 for 14 months pretty much 5 days a week at least & my instructor said pretty much the same thing, if you've 'kept up' on doing observations/mirror/shoulder checks etc then you should be OK. Pay attention to the road signs on the day and observe the speed limits for sure though & try and enjoy the tests. Best of luck gent, let us know how you get on. Thumbs Up

Will do.
Tbh, I'm too concerned about how other road users behave so my observation checks have been scared into me!
I've had one or two smidsys which I've been able to anticipate, you know the type, they make eye contact but you can tell they are on another planet and pull out anyway. Rolling Eyes

Oh, we know. Mad

Are you doing DAS then? You should waltz it if you've got some experience of your own.

Prevention is better than cure & all that, good luck with the tests. Mr. Green

Yeah doing a shorter DAS, the instructor reckons 3 days in total, including tests.
We'll see. Laughing

Sounds OK, Mod 1 isn't a particularly difficult test. Just remember the shoulder checks before you pull off to do each manouvre, even on the manual handling part (the 1st manouvre) you need to check both shoulders before moving the bike. Your instructor will no doubt run through all of this with you during training. Thumbs Up
