Riding to work today, see the taxi driver who tried to kill me early last week, so I point at him and give him the wanker hand gesture, filter off feeling victorious!

However, I may of counted my chickens...
I pulled up at some traffic lights and all of a sudden he's there stood over me and punched me (well my helmet), so I try to find neutral, which is a bitch. Find it, get off and some white knight gets in the way and takes him back to his taxi.

I have his licence plate, should I call police and make a claim against him/his employers for making me fearful on my journey to work/assaulting me?

Wow, yes, for sure you should call the police and file an assault claim, what an absolute moron, he clearly has had one too many punches in the head himself, that would have probably hurt his hand more than you... especially if he didn't punch with the correct knuckles as most people don't. Sounds like he needs some anger management Rolling Eyes

Buy a camera and then do it all again. Mainly for my own amusement, but also as some evidence.

Sorry, but you should know that there are no sane taxi drivers.

As for the police don't bother. As said without another witness or evidence (video) it's a "he said, she said" scenario. The police will not believe anyone so nothing will be done. Unless this white knight has anything to say (maybe his colleague, if so that's a no win situation).

The passenger in his taxi, who took a picture of my plate...
Didnt think there would be much point.

This is just going to escalate until it's like the game road rash.

The only people who say "don't bother with the police they wont do anything" are people who don't bother with the police and let every toe rag and violent cunt get away with it

Report him, 'word against word' yeah well derp, that's how statements work, it'll be a hassle and they'll take statements from everyone including witnesses

People don't just make shit up about being assaulted and go through the hassle of the reporting it just to be a cunt

Just be hones,t give a background to what happened before, tell him you flipped him off, so what, no excuse to physically assault someone

Say the helmet is now damaged and needs replacing
He has everything to lose, his job, his taxi license, money and reputation, you well, you were just going home/to work or whatever

I reported someone for going around swearing and screaming in people's faces and trying to get into fights with indians around town and he got a section 24 (think it was 24 anyway) Thumbs Up

As I was walking home last night I saw these three kids come up to a roundabout on scooters. A car was oncoming and due to go straight across but seeing the kids decided to slow down and pip his horn. As he does these kids decide to flip him off, u-turn and head back down the road. The two asian guys in the car take offence to this and start chasing them.

3 Dead Chavs is no real loss. You may require a new helmet depending on how hard he hit you. Call the fuzz.

Section 27 - Direction to Leave... very useful tool.

I agree with the above, you've had two run-ins with the guy, and there is an independent witness out there somewhere who might be traceable.

I would report it to the police, hopefully you have his registration number. Report him to your local council's taxi licensing department too, you may find they can take quicker and better enforcement action without the same level of proof that the police would need to charge.

You have to punch with the two knuckles closest to your thumb - so the knuckles of the two fingers you would give someone the V with. And when doing it you must keep your wrist straight. These knuckles are connected to bones which go right the way up your arm. They are MUCH less likely to break than the other two which only connect up to your wrist.

Keeping your wrist straight will obviously help get your whole body weight behind the punch without breaking your wrist. I've seen sooo many broken 'wrong' knuckles when I worked in a bar, all I could do was laugh at them and their pathetic technique Laughing

Not that I've ever had to use this knowledge, I just used to be a karate instructor.

so Flemy - you just remember this when you get the chance to punch him back. Although a head butt with your helmet on could be quite comical.

You took his wing mirror and broke his hand, quit while you're ahead, eh?

Or maybe get off next time and actually talk to the guy before one of you (i.e. you) gets properly hurt.

Bring witnessed/backup though.

I don't think the cab driver sounds like the talking type...

I would have thought a new helmet would be needed in that situation? Any damage to a helmet is surely a bad thing meaning it has to be replaced and you shouldn't be expected to pay for it Laughing
