Bike choice! CBR600f or Street triple R

being a massive girl. just cant decide on my next bike.

Does anybody own either of the bikes im interested in:

Either 2011/12 Honda CBR600f OR
2012 Triumph Street Triple R

Much prefer the look of the CBR - its a cool looking bike.
But i 'think' i preferred the ride on the triple. love the triple engine.

what are they like to own?

The CBR600F is a namby pamby budget crap Honda. The Triumph is an awesome powerful naked sportster with excellent suspension, brakes and handling.

If you like weather protection, budget suspension, steel frames and Hondas, then buy the Honda.

If you like light powerful naked sportsbikes, buy the Street.

even then I think most would still say the Striple

actually i didnt mean the RR. i didnt have a chance to test ride one..

Only reason to consider the CBR is if you're doing big motorway miles. Otherwise it's the triple all the way.

both around my budget, and both doing some nice 0% deals which is why they caught my eye.

yep. the more i look at it the more im leaning towards the triumph.

only things that turn my head towards the honda are the abs brakes, which the street didnt have- and the styling, which i think honda have got spot on.

but deep down i know the triumph was the better bike.

the new type CBR600F is the new hornet with a fairing on

there was a used one in a shop by me for months and months, looks worse the longer you looked at it, they were really glad to shift it in the end, no consumer interest at all

street triples are really good news for buyers, sellers and owners, they're incredible bikes in all areas, a great everyday bike, so good other manufacturers have been caught out and the new MV won't be the first clone

Another vote for the Striple!

The CBR is a nice looking bike and I quite like it but the Triumph will be the most fun to ride.

I swopped a 2011 GSX-R600 L1 for a 2011 Monster 1100 Evo so biased towards the naked's I guess; I just think they are more fun to ride.

What would you be using it for OP? Commuting, touring, winter riding, hooning on the weekend, carrying pillion etc etc?


I thought the new 6f was quite dull styling wise, the triumph however looks divine.


Given the choice, the CBR would need to be pretty spectacular to convince me to buy it over a street triple R for the same money and I'd struggle to see a scenario in which I'd buy an expensive do it all bike like the CBR when the older, cheaper ones were so good.

The only thing I can think of to sway to more to a Honda is the parts are a lot cheaper compared to the triumph. That's what people keep telling me as I would like to get a 675 daytona

Of course, I too would choose the triumph, but for a bit of balance, I'd like to point out that the honda may be better for some things like track days and high speed road riding in the wet and cold due to it's fairing.

I'd still get the triumph though.

yeah it would be commuting to work... although i live 10 mins from work - all country lanes.

sunday ride outs.

never had a pillion before, cant see when i would really.

and ive never done it, but i would love to do a track day. which i think the triple would be good for even if it is naked.

Triumph electrics aren't meant to be the best when it rains. I'm just not a fan of the looks of the striple but each to their own.

Personally I'd go for the cbr6f, they're popular for a reason.
