...making a, large, cheese, onion and potato pie!

I shall be mainly eating it with various pickles, or baked beans, washed down with a beer!

I used this one:-

https://www.currydishes.com/indian-recipes/onion-bhaji-recipe.html

Just make sure you use the gram flour and make sure the batter is not too thick, otherwise the bhajis end up a bit stodgy!

And, no I couldn't eat it all in one go, apart from anything else, I cooked too many spuds last night so used the extra to make a big plate of this:-

I did have some smoked pork loin that was going to go in it, however I stuck it on my sarnies, with some mustard!

Need to get a smoked pork and make an eisbein to go with that bratkartoffeln. I prefer to fry the potatoes in butter oil mix though.

Havent tried pies. Do you make the pastry or just buy puff pastry?

Oh sweet mother of god that looks like a delicious pie. It's my turn to cook tea tonight.... we only have salad stuff in Crying or Very sad

That reminds me actually, must give full on wrath to temp canteen lady. I asked for chicken and mushroom pie yesterday. After the long walk back to the office, I sat down, got my napkins out, got my brew beside me, cracked out the pepper, pushed my knife in, lifted a piece of pie up to find...... it was, in fact, NOT chicken and mushroom... Surprised Mad Shocked

...It was meat and potato Crying or Very sad I mean, what even is that? "Meat" and potatoe? MEAT? What meat?!

Suntan Sid - how much does your pie weigh?! It looks a proper beast! Nom nom nom Thumbs Up

I used butter to fry the spuds in the bratkartoffeln, watched it being made and eaten it many times in Germany!
I made the pastry, wouldn't buy it, I don't like puff pastry anyway!

Well I had a piece, about a sixth, for my tea, with some pickles and sauce, it still weighs just under 2 kilo! Shocked
I'm going to give some of it away, to friends and eat the rest myself!

I'm not a veggie, I just fancied a cheese and onion pie.
To keep all your minds at rest I'll make a "Desperate Dan" meat pie soon and post it up! Laughing
