Hi all,

new(ish) to the area, living near Ruthin, bike is due it's MOT next month, I'd prefer to book it into a garage that will also carry out any required work if needed. I don't mind travelling say 15 miles or so if needed to get to a reputable motorbike MOT/repair garage.

Can anybody recomend a garage?

Cheers all.

I always used to go to Williams Motors in Llandudno as they were always good for me. They only ever had to do work I couldn't do myself once and that was pressing bearings out of a wheel and putting new ones in which they did quickly and they've been great with MOT's.

I'd avoid the Honda Centre in Colwyn Bay as they've always seemed to be the "what can we screw this guy out of" type place every time I've taken a bike for an MOT or bought anything from there.

AD Motorcycles in Denbigh were fine when I took my bike for it's service, decent cafe across the car park too.

I've not had any problems with Colwyn Bay either, but it seems some have.

But then people who don't live in North Wales cant answer the question

Woods in Abergele - cracking service and people; plenty to look at if your ride in and wait for the MOT

am ex ruthin myself (GF and parents still live there - so keep eyes out for a NC30/35 or RC30)
A&D in denbigh as has been said, good bunch there.
However you could always try my Pal Richard who is ex woods Ducati and does all my Ducati work now. He lives near Gellifor and will look after you.
Mobiles 07771991023 and tell him Paul with the RC30 (he thrashed at the weekend) sent you over.

I actually bought my ZRX1100 from A+D, sort of forgot about that. They were friendly and helpful but then when you're giving someone £3,000 I suppose they would be friendly Laughing Apart from the MOT that came on the bike I never had an MOT there so can't comment on that really.

Then how the hell do people use the North Wales photo tag game, or that thread with all the people from North Wales, talking about rideouts, maybe they are just people from the south who travel north just so they can post in the north Wales sections Thinking

Wales section....covers the whole of Wales.

So someone in South Wales would be able to recommend a North Wales MOT Centre ? I dont think so Rolling Eyes

If the thread had been posted in the Wales section, it would have been missed by someone living in the Midlands/NW who would have a better idea.

You seem to be failing to grasp the concept here.
Wales section it covers the WHOLE OF WALES
People from South Wales post in this section
People from Mid Wales post in this section
People from North Wales post in this section.
So no, someone from South Wales would not be able to recommend someone up North, but someone up North could.

If you want someone from the Midlands to answer, post in the Midlands section, o/p didn't ask about the Midlands or NW, specifically Wales.

Regional sections, they are there for this reason, to find out about garages, it also benefits other users in the Wales section because they can just look there and find garages there, post them in here they get lost

Then join the Wales section, if you frequent the area so much, contribute to the Wales section where it would be a lot more beneficial to other members.

Posting in the right section isn't hard Rolling Eyes

who said anything about it being hard ? the OP posted here in this section possibly because he too was not a member of the wales section. Would you rather everyone just ignored the OP ?

Just PM Teh Lozz (Lozzypop1) and get access to the Wales section, post there, benefit the members of Wales section = Maximum amount of profit.

In here, if you ignore what we are typing this thread would have been on page 2 by now, Wales section page 1, Teh Loz may even make it sticky.

Thanks all,

I've found somebody by word of mouth locally.

Yeah I did intend to ask on the forum for Wales aswell but it won't let me since it's "full". Also, I'm close to the border so wouldn't want to rule out garages near Chester and Ellesmere Port area either.

Thanks again all.

why do you say I'm spamming?

I needed to get my bike tested as it was out, I usually use A&d but they couldnt fit me in, Jonesis were able to and do it the same day for me.

I was simply adding my view
