I need to find a bike!

Hey everyone...im getting a bike in the next month or so and i need a small sports bike (as im only 4'11). just wondering if anyones selling a bike that'd suit me, and needs be be round the 3K mark under 250cc.
I can find GPXs galore but iv been told by people to start with a 125, and they're not so common. i love to NSR but cant find any anywhere!

I'd say have a look around for an Aprillia RS 125, there common but as far as i understand there a good bike, Nsr's arent too bad either but arguably the Aprillia is better. But don't limit your range tot hose bikes, have a look around, even a cbr 250 is a good bike.

small sports bike......cant think of any smaller than most cruisers and the cbr400. Its a common problem finding a small enough bike. you cana lways take the seat foam out(not all of it) Smile

CBR400 is a nice little bike. I'm only 5 foot 5 and I have difficulty getting my feet down with a lot of bikes, but I can sit on a CBR400 with my legs bent.

As for 125's, the CBR125 is narrow and low, as is the NSR. However if you don't particularly want a sportsbike some cruisery 125's are extemely low.

first of all, have long have you being riding, if you can handle a cbr 400 then go for it! I don't like cruiser 125's, but thats just my opinion.

But plenty of 'new bikers' go straight out and buy a sports 600.

A sports 400 is IMO an ideal first bike. If you would rather have a 125 or 250 for insurance or confindence purposes then fair enough, but I believe that 400cc is the ideal size of bike to start with. Smile

If you are looking for a first bike, I can personnally recommend the NSR. Handling is perfect for learning, it is cheap to run, reliable as hell (not like the mito) cheap parts (not that you will really need them) unlike the Aprillia, cheaper insurance than the both of them and enough performance to get you started. Whats more its the best looking 125 sports bike you can get!! I recon anyway! Depends if its a sports bike you want. Worth looking at cruisers too. These were the three I was looking at when getting my first bike.Good luck making your choice.

cant you get a bandit 250 /400/600 as they are quite low to start with and get a 33mm lowering kit

Alltough I don't particularly like them, a cruiser style 125 isn't actually /that/ bad compared to other 125s (I wouldn't go for a bigger cruiser though.)

Worth having a search through here as there's some threads about how to get around 'height issues'; ie cut down seats, bigger shoes, planning where you park etc.

ok...to clarify, im not a huge fan of cruisers, i like the lean forward to reach the bars, slimline bikes, not the ones with their intestines showing Razz

I need one under 250cc to appease my dad, and no, 4'11 wasnt a misprint, an NSR I looked at yesterday was the first bike i've ever sat on that i can actually reach the ground!
(and i'm about to post another topic about the NSR im lookng at...trying to figure out if its a decent deal)
CBRs are too big for me, im also really light (40kgs) so I need a very light easliy manouverable bike.
