 |
|
got a newsletter from SMC today, with a note at the bottom that Derbyshire County Council are planning on introducing on-street charges for parking on the road. Theres a petition to sign to oppose them, think i've got this right:
https://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/council/have_your_say/Petitions/details/default.asp?PetitionID=197
apparently 7500 sigs needed & theres 3500 on it already ____________________ 1st bike Suzuki EN 125-2 (to break me in) Current bike Honda CBR 400 RR |

Can you link to the actual proposal for the introduction of any charges? All I can find on the DCC website that is related is this petition.
Seems a bit daft to be signing a petition calling for plans to be abandoned when there is no evidence of what the plans might be or even that the plans exist! ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

Found a couple of news stories about it that all say pretty much the same thing - it was in the news a month ago and even then the report on the proposal had already been withdrawn.....
So the actual proposal itself, including charges (it looks like they wanted 50p/hour for bikes with cars paying £1.30 for one hour or £4 for up to 4 hours) and the times the charges would apply, isn't available. ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

council starts charging for bikers, bikers move to different place, council stops charging, bikers are all gone. Yet another great move from our great councils ____________________ Ybr 125 > Bandit 650SA > GSXR 600 > Triumph Sprint St1050 > CB1300 > Z1000SX + FJ1200 (written off) > VFR750 >FJ1200 |

Put your coins in the machine, get the ticket, stick it on.
What's to stop anyone taking it off the bike again and putting it on theirs, or just pinching it to be awkward. |
do what i do, buy a ticket, stick it on, take a photo of it on mobile phone, stick ticket in pocket.
if PCN comes through, email off the photo, if they persist, email them a scan of the parking ticket and when the "why wasnt it on your bike" comes through just say "it was, your wardens are knobs" ____________________ BCF's biggest cunt list: Cansa, Pits, Rob |

I do similar for faulty parking ticket machines. Record myself on my mobile putting the right money in and no ticket being issued. It is strange how all the demands for money with menaces and insistance the machine was working perfectly on the day in question evaporate once the video footage comes to light.
I would like the opportunity one day to play it in court in front of a judge. Ditto for documents posted first class to the DVLA.
Rogerborg (you appear to be the right person to ask) would I be permitted to use / show such video evidence in court? |

Not bothered going down there this year, one the weather has been rub nearly every weekend (yes im one of those part time bikers that gets all fussy about my bike getting wet!) 2 I got fed up with concentrating more on looking out for the plod than enjoying the ride on the run into MB.
I don't think paying a quid or so would be the end of the world, so long as it do sent also bring out PC traffic warden come ticket inspector plodding about slapping tickets and fines on bikers for minor infringements of the law (small plates etc) ____________________ HONDA VFR400NC24, YAMAHA FZR600R, LAVERDA 750 FORMULAS, CB250 SUPERDREAM, SUZUKI GSXR750K1, YAMAHA R1 5PW, APRILLIA RSVR, SUZUKI GSXR100K5, SUZUKI GSXR100K5 TK2, SUZUKI GSXR750K7, HONDA CBR600RR, YAMAHA R1 5PW, KAWASAKI ZX6R C1H CURRENT |
