After finally deciding my helmet is shit after trying on a few new ones today (and realising I can take it off without undoing it Shocked ) I've been eyeing up the Shark S900C, found a place that will do it for £200 with a free black visor, anyone had any experience with them?
Cheers Smile

I bought an s900 for £120 about 6 months ago. Not sure if the C version has anything improvements. It has the inside drop-down visior which they are trying to sell you.

Helmet is light but it's the only helmet I have ever had. No complaints though. Good washability.

cheers, I was originally after a S900 as they were alot cheaper, but want a black visor for it and it works out about £20 difference between the standard and the C, so not sure which to go for

The only difference I can see with the C version is a new 'ventilation' system - the original s900 was advertised with ventilation but it was pretty non-existent IMO (although I don't get above 50mph usually.

The standard s900 has a clear main visor with inner dark visor. I can't see that the s900c has a main dark visor if that's what you mean (which I think would be illegal?).

yeah I love the look of tinted visors which is what I was after (for daytime use only, keep the clear with me for night riding, same as i do now) but can't really tell the difference between the 900 and the 900C, will have to go into a shop and see what they say, didn't really have chance earlier Smile

Does it fit you properly?

I found it here for £179.. but it doesn't come with a black visor.

Does come with a cleaning kit and bag though, and the kit is pretty decent.

I bet if you rang them up and see if they had any black visors they would do you a good deal!

Thumbs Up

If you haven't done already, go try them on. The shape of the helmet do not fit my head. The small one is too big and the Extra-small is too tight. Shark have some great looking helmets too, but they seem to be sized the same, so all out for me Sad

Tinted visors are illegal at any time of day are they not? I was always under the impression you are only able to wear them on track?

Yes, beyond a certain percentage of tint they're not allowed for road use. However the police tend to turn a blind eye to them as long as it's suitable conditions. Always good to keep a clear one on you as well to show you're prepared for bad weather/getting caught out at night.

Yeah, I've been past numerous 5-0 with mine black.. even talked to one before with it on.

And filled up with petrol right next to one yesterday.

I wear glasses so for me a visor is a must in the sun really.. I'll take the risk for being able to see..

lol, you should be fine Thumbs Up

As said, I've not had any bother with a black visor, but I keep the clear one in the bag anyway, not fun riding at night with the black one!
