but it had to be done
I have the 6 string version of this guitar so I have a pair now
this takes my guitar total to 16 in total

I got it on Fleabay for the princely sum of £375, its "As New" not a mark on it
and even the original factory strings apart from the G harmony string
which I suspect snapped because the guy I bought it from couldn't even tune it
Mrs will be pissed with me but at the price its made of win

Martin DXK2AE 12 String Thumbs Up

First off...Ok guitar at a nice price.

What I'm thinking is...why get a cheap mex Martin and not play it first? Bit risky as quality isn't what it used to be. Martin haven't got that entry level thing quite right....said my Dad who made a living from playing solo/groups ...and just to make me doubly inadequate he can play sax...and blah...oh I can't bare it. Sad

what did you want some hippy 12 string for

I've earn't enough money for my train fare playing a 12string...and I'm quite average.

B/ham new street is quite claustrophobic so suspect they wanted rid of me and tickets were affordable in the 80s

oldpink...hope you don't think I'm turning my nose up..just like I said..Bit of a gamble to part with cash for a wooden instrument you haven't played.

I have 7 Acoustics and they all sound different
ranging from mellow and melodic to crisp and bright, the 12 strings add an extra dimension to the sound
I do have a few electrics as well (Fender & Ibanez) but I very rarely play them

Nice guitar.

Everyone should have a 12 string acoustic.

Hmmm, I have the same problem this week (bought a modest Les Paul copy to replace a more modest 70's lespaul copy). I going to try the 'one in/one out' gambit, and then temporarily hide one in the garage.

She did remark that I was making alot of noise/mess rearranging and adding to the guitar hangers in my office......

.... and I can use those photos as evidence that I don't have an unreasonable number of guitars - a mere 8.5 (the guitalele counts as 0.5). (edit - Blimey that was a typo)

Hope all goes well with Mrs Oldpink. I've been in a similar quandry recently myself, shall I shan't I? Type thing. I recently bought a new bass as a bloke on eBay was selling them cheap they've been in my watch list since last year but it was always one of those thing I "didn't really need" until recently when he dropped the price down to £225, had to have it. Twisted Evil It arrived today.

This thread is making me want to spend money on more guitars.. Sad

I used to have quite a collection, but had to thin it down. Now i have an Epiphone Explorer with EMG pickups (sounds, and plays, awesome)
And a cheap acoustic that i picked up brand new for £65 about 8 years ago.

Thing is, it plays and sounds beautiful... Much much better than a £65 guitar has any right to. Laughing

When funds allow though i will be bagging myself an ESP Eclipse

On the subject of hardcore pornography... I've been idly flipping thorough this book. Glossy colour photos of 1958-1960 sunburtst les pauls.

Until I can comfortably afford one of these made by someone with an american accent https://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w255/ajbsmirnoff/pinefd_1191526616_98_R8_in_the_Sun_007_600.jpg

This'll do.https://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w255/ajbsmirnoff/db-1.jpg.

But I'm sorely tempted by an iguana burst. Maybe as a project guitar.
