Inspired by me seeing the advert at the top of the page for fairingkits.org*.

Their list of bikes / fairings is limited and I just wondered if it was indicative of the relatively small selection of bikes that are actually crashed or destined for track day use.

I realise this site is not UK based (it's USA, price in $, no currency option) but it was interesting having a browse. Why it pops up on UK BCF I can only guess (kerrr-ching, clicks adds to the coffers).

Just interested in opinions, what would you expect to see as most crashed or most track use?

Thumbs Up

* another company where I can't easily see a bricks and mortar address or an actual name of the person/people. So wouldn't be getting my card details anyhow.

'What gets crashed' is more indirect I'd say.

The CBR600 for example is a relatively common bike.

500 CBR600's on BikeTrader atm.
Different models, sure, but they're there.

By contrast, there are 17 CB500's.
16 GPZ500's.
31 ER-5's.

600 and 1000 sport bikes are reasonably common. Stuff like the Pan Euro is as well. A lot of bikes just really didn't have massive production runs in the UK.

I realise I've posted stuff that doesn't really have fairing, but the point stands. Other than training school bikes I've only ever seen one other CB5 on the road in two months.

Mine has certainly been crashed numerous times (not by me I might add) Laughing

I think in terms of track bikes maybe litre bikes get binned more than 600s, at least that would be my observation. Presumably because it's much easier to spin up the back wheel out of a corner.

Must be Fireblades, judging by the ridiculous quotes I seem to get on them now. As soon as I mention Blade, the price seems to shoot up.
