 |
|
The last time I had regular internet access at home was probably just over two months ago, I had my demonoid account for good quality downloads, and piratebay for anything I couldn't find on demonoid. I had a 10 gig a week habit and my generic U.S. tv series and movie cravings were well and truely satisfied.
After breaking my girlfriends laptop I had a tough two months without the internet, I actually had to resort to talking to her! Actual conversation. *shudder* It's bad enough just living with her.
So this month I get super-fast unlimited fiber-optic broadband installed to the new flat, and struggled for a week to get an old pc up and running (damn piece of junk pc knocks 30Mb/s off my download speed!), I get online to find that Piratebay AND Demonoid have been taken down. I feel violated. I know that the sense of security before was a false one, and that at anytime people could have seen what I was downloading, but the familiarity felt safe. I can't help feeling that now the powers that be are actually cracking down on downloading that I am more at risk of being caught. To top it off after googling the subject I find that now the only safe way to download content without people prying is to pay for access to usenet which I am informed can still be spied on and only makes it a little harder. Or pay even more and use a VPN service, which I am informed is the only safe way to hide your habits completely.
So I assume that people are still downloading from somewhere for free, and my question is this, am I actually any more likely to be caught downloading from the usual sites than I was before? I've found the mirrored pirate bay but I can't help feeling a little vulnerable when using it, am I asking to be caught? ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |

Really? The police have bigger issues like child porn? Don't get me wrong that is an issue, but there are A LOT of other issues which are bigger than some pictures circulating the internet.
Like people stealing shit
Like People being mugged
Like people being shot and stabbed
I could probably think of a hundred more crimes I would rather the police spend their time sorting out which are more important than weirdos fapping to kids, and the such? What is the such? People looking at really bad offensive porn?
"oh noes gaiz, we need to stop sorting out all the real crimes in this world and stop people from fapping, everyone one of you, Traffic, Fireams, SOCO, you must all stop what you're doing and hunt those people fapping to child pronz down" ____________________ Stinkwheel: You have no right to free speech

you moron i was refering to the task forces that actually get paid to handle illegal internet activities or crimes related to them.
my point being out of all the crimes commited on the internet they're more worried about child porn, internet fraud and other shit like that.
my advice to you pits, use that braid you was endowed with at conception. |

You should perhaps take the cock out of your mouth and the jizz from your eyes and type what you actually mean.
But even still the bigger issue is people actually fucking kids, not looking at teh pronz, you never hear about people who have downloaded millions of pictures of child pronz these days, just groups of people shagging kids.
Even still, you call me someone posting moronic bullshit, but lets be fair, you post more moronic bullshit than anyone else, and more butthurt, and you're that much of a moron you can't even spell, you can't call anyone a moron when you're a mongtard yourself, that's like trying to disqualify yourself in the special olympics because someone is more of retarded manchild than you.
Edit: A point was raised, what am I meant to braid? Your hair? My hair? What are you on about, it isn't a gay thing is it? Bet it is a euphemism for a pearl necklace, and there ain't no way you're getting a pearl necklace from me ____________________ Stinkwheel: You have no right to free speech

Tor Network. It's slower, but with a fibre connection, I can't imagine you'll really notice it.
Piratebay was blocked by most UK ISPs not so long ago, and Demonoid was crippled by a massive DDoS attack, and hasn't been able to find its feet again yet.
UseNet over Tor through a VPN should make it damn near impossible for anyone to listen in, although I can't help but think that having such heavy security measures in place will make you instantly conspicuous to anyone that's being paid to keep an eye on suspicious activity. ____________________ '10 SV650SF, '83 GS650GT (it lives!), Questionable DIY dash project, 3D Printer project, Lasercutter project |

You can still access piratebay, its as easy as searching on google "how to access piratebay from the UK".
No matter what you do, you will not escape being monitored. There was an article on the BBC just the other day about how monitoring firms monitor everyone that downloads, and blocking programs do not work. ____________________ I'm autistic. That means I'm smarter than you. |

Yep found the mirrored site almost immediately.
Why would demonoid be taken down using DDoS? What I read said it was taken down by the Ukranian government, I would have thought they could just demand that the host stops hosting? It went on to say that anonymous used DDoS to take down Ukranian government sites in retaliation.
Anyway by the sounds of it things are no more dangerous than they were before, I guess I will continue as I did. Wish me luck ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |
