The internet is a horrible place. There is far too much nastiness accessible to an irresponsible public.

1. Gore is too readily available, which cheapens life. I see no reason why the public should be able view such material. It does nothing for us to be able to see death and destruction. Nowadays children can - and no doubt do - view the sort of vicious stuff that 30 years ago only a select few forensic scientists, or chief inspectors would see. I do not see any freedom of expression, choice, etc, nor any productive reason for such materials to be viewable.

2. Filth. The internet is dripping with the semen of losers and perverts. When I was a kid, littlewoods bra section was hot stuff. That was all I could get my hands on, and it was enough. Nowadays, children can - and do - see all sorts of depraved shit. Fisting, orgies, coprolalia, etc. There is no need, no benefit, no purpose, in this filth being available to all. It doesn't further human kind in anyway. I feel sorry for children today - there is no innocence left. We are a blackened society.

3. Time wasting. The internet is, at best, one big waste of time. Facebook, chat forums, online games, mindless, brain deadening distractions.

There are good sides to the internet that should be preserved, but I for one would be in favour of deleting the whole internet and starting again with a much more restrictive system. Our society is utterly fucked up and the internet is fueling the violent rogues and the perverts.

No, it is fueling the people who take pictures/videos of the violent rogues and the perverts (of whom there are probably about as many as there ever have been, only we are more aware of them now)

I also think the internet is to blame for a general decline in manners and good behaviour in this country. if I were to start a post about liking green tea, by reply number ten, people would be shouting at me and threatening to rape my mum, or some such.

It's not that bad in real life, but it's getting that way.

People can no longer behave in a reasonable manner because the internet infantilises people, regressing them to children throwing their toys out, vomiting, splurging, shitting. The internet makes adults children and children adults.

If you dont want to look at gore or porn, then dont. Its as simple as that Smile People who want to spend their day looking at pictures of dead people are wierd, but better that then having them outside with us...

The one thing the internet has ruined is how people talk. Im sick of people my age using words and phrases they found on the internet that they think are cool. Then you have the whole meme thing which is even worse...

Given that people have been sexually and politically deviant since time immemorial, I don't believe society is any more violent or sexual. Its just that we are more aware of it, due to the medium of the internet (which is, after all, simply photos, videos, sound effects, and words).

Besides, everybody knows the internet is made of cats.

Although, yes, I agree with you that, similarly to other forms of modern popular media, it does drive a certain type of person to antisocial acts - which people with control over their own minds and lives tend to know the difference between real and not real.

Sadly, almost two generations are growing up believing that the internet IS the real world. I think that is where the problem lies. They are being VERY easily manipulated by the people smart enough to know how to manipulate with pictures and words.

The way I see it, is that you can choose to view what you want, and don't look at what you don't.

If your kids look at death and porn on t'web then that would be your failure to supervise/educate about what is acceptable etc.
As an adult I believe in freedom of choice. I like choice. I can choose to see, or not see.

Why should somebody else decide for me, what's best for me?.

It's not a question of whether I want to look at it. Even if I wanted to, that doesn't mean it's healthy for me, or for my relationships, or for society, for me to do so.

Violence is everywhere - movies, music, games, internet. Sex is everywhere. Stupidity is everywhere. Shouldn't human kind be aiming for something more noble?

It would, if the scum at the top facilitated such endeavour.

The Internet puts a wealth of information at the fingertips of it's users and provides a communications medium unparalleled in history. How people choose to use it is entirely up to them. Nobody has to look at anything on the web or post anything on the web either. As far as the 'won't somebody think of the children' argument goes, that's down to parental responsibility.

Coprolalia is actually involuntary swearing (Literally talking shit... somewhat prescient for the OP). I think you meant coprophagia (eating shit) or coprophilia (loving shit)

EDIT... And if you get it wrong again I'm gonna rape your mum Wink

Most of it is "Shazza takes it up the industrial estate" graffiti, but very occasionally you'll stumble across a Banksy.

A regular day for me:

1. Watch some death videos, a nice shotgun to the head or hammer torture video normally entertains me.

2. Realize i'm due a wank, put on some bukkake, fisting, 2 girls 1 cup, pissing, anal, (or anything Japanese) porn and bash one out.

3. Discover the time is only 1pm, so i then watch countless videos of funny cats, ghost videos, bike videos on youtube, followed by visiting a few forums, telling everyone how nice the weather is, or how terrible my life is in a facebook status. Repeat until 10pm.

4. Watch an illegally downloaded movie from isohunt, or porn until 11pm/12am.

5. Sleep.

U mad op?

Stupidity is everywhere because responsibility is being taken away from the "people" by the pointless "policies" and "guidelines".
The level of common sense in the general pubic is in a state of freefall.
People no longer need to think for themselves.

It suits the government for the people to be like this.

With this, the people are becoming more susceptible to what they see and hear causing them to see it as the norm.

And then we have the government complaining about how they are stuggling to cope as they cant handle being responsible for everything, how they are trying to change things and issue more policies and guidelines to try and stop stupid people from doing stupid things.
But by doing this they are just taking more and more responsibility away from the people.

It's a catch 22.

Hope some of that makes sense. Confused

People can look at what they want on the internet so far as I'm considered. You can arrange your pixels in whatever manner you like, I could not give less of a cr@p tbh! What is not acceptable is people like the OP trying to impose their views/morals/opinions/religion upon others. Every effort should be made to make the internet as difficult to delete and regulate as is physically possible, giving everyone a route to true freedom of information and expression.

Die Juden also think the internet is a horrible place and want to control it. But what dont they want to control?

Controlling porn wont stop porn and things though. Too many Juden involved in porn and making money from it.
