Hi guys i was a member on here a while back but forgot my username :/ basicly i have a 2000 R6 with 12k of miles.

It has run fine and i washed it on Saturday went for a little spin and there was slight hesitation for the first few mins (must have got a bit of water somewhere it shouldn't have been)
Then Sunday i rode about 70 Miles fine nothing wrong at all and then stopped parked up. When i went to leave about 20 mins later it wouldn't start ( was still warm about 75 C) so i tried to start it with throttle and managed to get it going with full throttle but it was only sitting at about 2k revs tweaking the throttle for a few mins and i got it above then it ran fine, so i left whilst riding there was no problems until a junction about 20 mins down the road when it just died whilst i was comming to a stop and down shifting. so i took it home and put it away, today it started first time with the choke on (Cold) and i let it warm up no problems, Until it got to 55-60 Celsius when it started to play up again.

Any help would be appreciated greatly i am going to clean the air filter, spark plugs and WD-40 the coils in case any water got in there i am also going to make sure that there's no trapped pipes to see if that helps.

I have took a Video of whilst it was warm to show you

Many Thanks Rob

Possibly coils, but there are more sinister engine faults with the 5eb that you may be experiencing the start of.

My 5eb has gone through 2 sets of coils in 40k miles

Cracked barrels can give such symptoms, and it's a common fault on the 5eb and 5sl and R1s of that era.

Barrels are also cast into the casings, so if so, new engine is probably the best option, or sell it and make sure it's cold.

So glad mine never gave me any shit running bitchiness even after all the abuse I gave it.
