The vacuum just acts like a switch to turn it on and off. Varying the vacuum won't alter the oil flow.
There is a needle valve in the bottom of the scotoiler which is attached to a rubber diaphragm by a plastic rod. When there is a vacuum, the diaphragm is sucked up which opens the needle valve and the oil runs out under gravity.
The adjuster alters how far up the diaphragm can move.
So. What you actually need to do is reduce the flow of oil and since you have run out of adjustment on the oiler itself you could try one of the following:
1) Use thicker oil.
2) Mount the oiler lower down so there is less head of pressure.
3) Fit something that restricts the flow of oil through the delivery tube such as an inline tap or a clamp that pinches the tube.
OR
You spent a small fortune on a plastic tube with a needle valve in the bottom, a rubber diaphragm and a handful of plastic hose. There is about £5 worth of parts in a scotoiler. You're paying for the idea, not the item. Get in touch with them for advice and make them earn the other £65 ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink.
