Front Brake Bleeding Help

Well,

This is doing my head in on my Honda NSR125

Basically had to buy a new front brake caliper second hand with carrier, as the old one was fu*ked, went to put the new one on with the brake hose which was on the one i purchased and i can't get it to bleed up

I have tryed this method, pump brake 10 times then undo nipple until some fluid and air has come out, then tighten bleed nipple up, then let off the brake lever, it appeared to me pushing The fresh DOT 4 out for age's with no air bubbles in sight.

Also tryed gravity bleeding still no luck.

Also tryed topping up fluid with Res Cap on and screwed tight

The brake seems to have nothing their at all it doesn't even move the piston's, i don't have a Leak anywhere i have checked the hose it's all in good order, also used New copper washers on caliper and master cylinder, which don't leak.

Any idea's much appreciated guy's

Try bleeding it at the top banjo. There is often an air bubble lurking about there.

1. Add a little pressure to the brake lever.

2. Next, with your 14mm spanner gently undo the banjo bolt which connects the brake hose to the master cylinder. Be careful as the brake lever will suddenly become very soft and fluid will come out of the banjo. The trick is to keep a small amount of pressure on the lever without squirting brake fluid across your paintwork.

3. Next slowly pull the lever towards the bar, and before you meet the bar tighten the banjo again.

4. Now mop up the fluid that is everywhere.

Ok bud.

So even a tiny tiny bit of air in the system can cause it to have nothing at all ?

Put the bike on the sidestand, and the bar on full left lock.

Bleed as normal

Should do the trick as the m/c is at the correct angle to let the air into the reservoir.

Get Jam Jar half full of brake fluid, attach tube to bleed nipple and dangle it in jam jar crack bleed nipple and and keep pumping the lever you should see bubbles in the jar, keep and eye on the fluid in the reservoir and top up when necessary as soon as no more bubbles appear tighten bleed nipple. Job done.

If you are bleeding it front dry it helps to pre fill the calliper with brake fluid.

Thanks guys, il try this all tommorrow,
I don't think the master cylinder needs a rebuild as when I took the banjo off when replacing pipe, I pulled the lever and, brake fluid squirted all over me :L

Any other ideas welcome
