Any pointers from the BCF massive? The listing has nearly run through and im not sure what to do with it next. It is the second time I have listed it, first time I had 35 watchers, 1 offer of 3k and another offer of a swap for a quad bike. This time round I have only 15 watchers no offers and I even lowered the price by £100. I know I have priced it at the higher end of the market but it really is that mint I think its worth it. Although as I have added the best offer feature so I am happy to take a bit less. Any advice? Something wrong with my listing or am I being optimistic at the price?

There's your problem... no-one else does.
I'd say you'd be in the right ballpark knocking £500 off.

Change cleanest out there title, it may well be, I don't know, but statements like that no good for increasing interest IMO. Thumbs Up

Also consider auction at bare min you,d sell as the starting price.

not being horrible but the colour scheme is dreadful if it was the classic blue white scheme i actually believe this would have sold very quickly!

plus summer is coming to an end might be best holding on till spring if you can afford it plus ebay is full of dickheads who want something for nothing.

next time you place an add like that on ebay use the classified adds as this allows the add to last for 30 days and you wont get some prick pressing buy it now then changing his/her mind later.

You know how to use eBay, search yourself and find plenty.

oh wait... same bike, in a colour people want, also in good condition...

£1000 less and a year newer, and doesn't have a chinese nasty end can on it.

only about 12000 km on an 8 year old bike? That is a problem. No matter how few km the depreciation still applies.

Have you checked the asking price for bikes of the same year? Yours will be worth the upper end of that due to low mileage.

Damn. I do 20 000 km per bike per year.

That bike you just linked has twice the mileage and MOT runs out in 1 month. Mine has 7 months warranty on it - oh and mine is a 750 not a 600 like your link Rolling Eyes

EDIT: also the nasty chinese end can on it is actually an £190 real carbon fibre sp engineering can Thumbs Up

There have been 3 (04) GSZR750's sold on e-bay via Auction recently.

Personally I see Auctions as a more accurate figure for what the market is willing to pay.

£2550

£2600

£3250

So the average is £2800. Though a Blue & White Gizzer tend to sell better.

So asking £3650 is a lot compared to what they are actually selling for especially with the colour scheme you have.

Tax and mot are out in a couple of months on that and mine has 4 thousand less miles (which is a fair bit more when the bike has only done 7 thousand miles) plus a 7 month warranty which is extensive. Tax £80, Mot £30 (if nothing wrong) Warranty? Not sure how much its worth?

I want £3500 for the bike and judging by the rest of them on Ebay its worth it.

Is there anything else I could do to the listing or should I relist it on an auction?

Overpriced and you want more moneys for a chinky end can.

Rare colours can be translated as unpopular and you are even asking for £25 to transfer the warranty over Laughing .

Its a fair bit less but honestly thats still less than 1500 miles per year, which is nothing, and its in a more popular colour scheme.

You'll note that one hasn't actually sold either - that price was only for reference. You'll certainly get close to the true market value for it by auctioning it Thumbs Up

Chance the font colour to black and a normal type face. The purple to me gives it a bad image Thumbs Up looks chav'ish
Also include both endcans in the sale or at least let the buyer choose which one they want on Very Happy

I think the main issue is new riders want a 600... and the more experienced want the 1000.

I've seen a few 1000s sell for ~£4k for the K5/K6 shape.

Just my 2 cents

Like I say I would take less, but it is worth more than 3k. I saw about 8 or 9 GSXR before I purchased that one and they were all shit - none came even close to being as tidy as mine. The adverts would say they were immaculate Rolling Eyes

Not a chinky can - you see them a lot on the gsxrs, they are very nice real carbon firbre cans, I had a Yoshi TRS tri oval can for my bike but it looked and sounded shit and weighed a fucking ton so I sold it. And those yoshis are supposed to be THE can for that bike. Rolling Eyes I think they are terrible.

Why would I pay £25 for something that doesnt benefit me? If I was buying a bike privately I would snap someones hand off for a 7 month warranty for £25.

I think it looks like a nice bike but like others have said its not the classic GSXR colours and you're asking top whack for it.

Thing I find with bikes its that they are often a luxury item so if it comes to the point where its has to go people tend to be willing to take a hit to get rid.
To that end prices are kept keen and also now with the internet there are a million and one places to sell so its easy to find a deal.

You have 2 options either keep trying to find the buyer willing to pay top money but remember the cost of listings/advertising comes off the sale price. Or you can lower the price to a level that more people are willing to pay and get it sold.

+1

Paddy is thinking along the same lines as me.

It's the time of the year where the Cricket Riders wallets are all tucked up after summer awaiting the hit of Christmas.

I would guess the main buyers at the minute are Commuters and New riders.

A Gixxer 750 isn't exactly commuter friendly (though I wouldn't mind) and insurance will put off a newbie not matter how much their hearts ache for one.

People are being squeezed more and more for money this year and I think its stopping a lot of people upgrading bikes that are primarily weekend hoons.

Yes I have on a few sites, should do gumtree though - forgot about that Thumbs Up

I think I will put the bike on auction for with a reserve of £3500 and see what happens. Im not actually in any rush to sell it as I have the R1 project to start and it is only a back problem which is forcing the sell.
