but i cant get the fuel cap off.

unsure if this merits the workshop but i do need help!

basically 2 weeks ago i lost my keys. no spares. i know, silly.

Anyway the new parts finally arrived, Lock set + Fuel cap.

Just got the Lock set changed over but i cant for the life of me get the fuel cap off to replace it. i've tried prying it over with everything!

any other options available to me?

many thanks,

Barry

Inside the lock will look something like this

See the pins sticking out? you want to ram something down the lock to bend the pins in on both sides to allow you to turn it. Like this

The first picture is a seat lock. Fuel cap will be shorter and tend to only have four pins.

Did you buy a whole new cap or just the lock? If cap try and use a tight fit screwdriver and force it. Use a rubber handle one as you dont want a spark if you hit it with a hammer. The lock pins are brass so no spark from them.
