telephone interview with autoglass

I applied for a position with them a few months ago and was told that if I didn't hear anything within two weeks to assume I was unsuccessful.

I think the job was a customer service supervisor position. Something to do with deputising for the manager on occasion was mentioned too but I can not remember now, has anyone any knowledge on what they are like to work for?

All I know about autoglass is that when some test smashed the side window on my mx5 I rang them thinking they'd have a standard charge for such a thing. Speaking to a slightly confused call centre woman as to why I'd want some glass fitted to my auto, she eventually gave me a quote of £354.

I rang back incase the woman had accidentally given me a quote for some double glazing being fitted to Buckingham palace, but got the same price.

Went to the Mazda dealer, all in, £99, will do it tomorrow, cheers.

I'm just guessing here, but after a few months of not hearing from them, I reckon you were unsuccessful with the telephone interview bit.

Years & years ago, when I was hands on in a garage environment, working the windscreen fitters job was considered useful on any general mechanics C.V. as long as it wasn't considered a long term vocation.

It was normal to do it for 1 or 2 years, but not for 20+.

Nowadays, it's a minimum wage job. They'll set on anyone who's prepared to prostitute themselve's for the pathetic wage that the job pays these days. They have to, their staff turnover must be in horrendous figures.

You're worried 'cos they wouldn't set you on as one of their 'call centre monkeys' ???

There's one or two inference's I can deduce from your OP, I wouldn't set you on as a call centre monkey either.

Sorry Barney if I wasn't clear, I applied for a position with them via email a few months ago, they have only now emailed me back after initially saying if I hadnt heard anything after two weeks to assume id been unsuccessful.

I have to contact them to arrange a telephone interview. Im starting to get concerned that it could be a call centre job even though there was nothing to indicate in the description that it was anything other than a supervisory position which would entail me standing in for the manager when they werent about.
I don't want a call centre job as Id be bored rigid. I am already in a senior position where I work now. The money is actually decent but they havent stated it as an earning potential rather a fixed salary.

Ive contacted them after realising that the text I got from them last month was nothing to do with a customer service questionare ( in my defence my other half read it and told me that) and they texted me again this morning. It is for a branch position not a call centre and as they have readvertised the position, I now know exactly what the job entails and the phone interview is only 15 minutes long. Thumbs Up

Just got a call today to say my telephone interview impressed the local branch manager so they want to interview me in person, Id forgotten about the interview to be honest as it has been a while Rolling Eyes

I was offered a job with them a while ago in the office of one of their branches. Tbh they seemed very unorganised with regards to getting back to me.
I hadn't heard nothing back after the interview and the person I wanted to speak to was never in. I eventually took another another job before they offered me that one. Which was a shame because the auto glass job was pretty decent pay compared to my usual.
