There isn't much to go on with what you have said, but for the sluggishness try a new plug (high performance 2 strokes eat plugs) Have you checked how tight the engine mounting bolts are?

The balance gears failing would cause the excessive vibrating. But like dogwafter said, it could be various other things causing this.

Cheers guys well when its idleing its not vibrating bad but its worse at 5-6 thousand revs but still vibrates at higher revs, feels horrible, well il try new plugs and make sure everythink is secure.
thanks

Check the engine mounting bolts firstly.
I assume the vibration increases with the revs and not with the speed of the bike?
(i.e. is the vibration still apparent in neutral?)

If the bolts check out okay and the vibration is linked with revs and not speed then definitely check the balance gears and shaft. (not that difficult to do)

You will be very lucky if it's an engine mount, then engine would have to be falling out to make any sort of " Big " Vibration.

very unlikely it's an engine mount, there's 4 of them and i doubt you'd get much vibration with one undone. as has been said id be looking at the balance shaft gears and bearings, the gears are a service item and fairly easy to access, the bearings are an engine split job and will be costing £100+ in parts alone, as it'd be pointless just replacing the balance shaft bearings with the casings split

If the balance bearing has gone, I'm pretty sure it can be replaced without splitting the case.

balance shaft has 2 bearings, front one just behind balance shaft gear with circlip should be replaceable with the engine in one piece, the rear one inside the gearbox isn't

Hi

Engine mounts are easy to check. But balance shaft gears would be my first guess. They are service items. While the bearings might have gone I would order the gears and check the bearings while changing gears

All the best

Keith

Yeah, I'd spent so much time with mine in bits I'd forgotten which bits were accessible from just taking the clutch cover off Wink
