All Because of Metal Footplates!

After my recent touchup job on some of my faring scratches, I noticed that the metal plates on the footstand had some of the blue paint on them.

Cue me going at it with White Spirit and an old rag. "hmmm" thinks I, "This is going to need more work".

So I grab my Torx drivers, and whip the things off.
Much polishing later, and im ready to put them back on... ah... crap... the nuts have fallen into the faring.

No problem I thought, ill just take off the bottom plate and get them out.

Cue me sitting with a Haynes manual, trying to figure out how to get the bottom plates off.

I finally got it back together, only took me 4 hours!

To get the base plates off, I needed to take the side farings, the front, the side-front panels, and the pillion footrest-guards.

After much tutting, sighing, and swearing, I finally got it all back.

Now I need a shower and a drink

Yeah, as infuriating as it was at time, I did enjoy it. And its another thing I can say that ive done

Plus ive never enjoyed a shower so much.
