Cleaning Cordura/textile clothing

Today I decided to see how I could clean my textile jacket and trouser. I went along to Hien Gerricke and purchased some expensive nikwax Techwash that you used in the washing machine. Basically you take the armour out of the clothing and then just stick it in the wash with three capfuls of the liquid.

Afterwards I intended to use nikwax TX.Direct spray on waterproofer after the wash has been completed to reproof the clothing.

What I was wondering was if anyone here had used this stuff and had an opinion.

I find the outer shell can be cleaned with just a wet cloth, so long as you have the inner lining in. The inner lining is what absorbs all the sweat and is what stinks. Sick

But, the inner lining can be washed on a normal cycle, so long as there isn't any fabric softener with it. At least that's what the guy at H-G told me. Smile

I do it all the time with no problems. Just remember, remove lining if possible, cool wash, dont spin to much, do all the zips and cuffs up and hang it on a hanger to dry so it does not lose its shape.

Make sure its totally dry before spraying on any waterproofer.

I have had the same jacket for 5 years and it still remains waterproof even after dozens of washes.
