So my cbr125 doesnt seem to start whenever i turn the engine off for over a minuite after a ride. It will only start if i give it some throttle, but then it dies if i dont keep the revs up. It will also sometimes die when i stop with the engine running, although this doesnt happen all the time.
It cant be the engine being too cold as nearly every time its happened its after a 20 minuite ride and the bike is warmed up nicely. The problem seems to go away once im riding.

So what could cause this? The only change that ive done too the bike before this started happening is fitting the yoshi exhaust...

Thanks.

I had this issue on a few bikes, when the engine is warm I guess the fuel in the mixture is evaporated before its taken into the cylinder-opening the throttle allows the motor to spin a little faster and take the mixture in.

It might therefore benefit the motor to have the idle mixture set a bit richer.

Is the choke fully off when you push it down, and not sticking on slightly? Check at the carb end.

Are you trying to start it with or without any choke when it's warm? If anything I'd have thought the aftermarket silencer would make it a little leaner.

I cant remember if i adjusted the idle speed down a little a couple of weeks ago. I remember putting it up and noticing it was too high, but i cant remember if i put it back Embarassed

I dont think the choke is sticking, but the mount to fix it to the handlebars has broke and its flopping all over the place, so il have to check Laughing

Im starting it without choke when its warm. I hardly ever use it because the bracket is broke.

I have noticed over the years, singles are more sensitive to this than multis.
