hey all, i am just coming in to the last few months of turning 16, i want to get out on the road asap! so i just wanted to ask you guys what steps would you advice me on?
like first test i should take and when i should take then?
at the mo i am thinking about buying a rs 50.

The first thing you have to do is the CBT , you can't ride without it. I would strongly recommend you get a theory/hazard perception test kit and practice it till you reach a pass level standard. That way you'll get a basic theoretical understanding of roadcraft.

You do the CBT first, and that's not examined, so just go and enjoy the day. You need to do it though, and you need to show a level of reasonable competence for the instructor to give you your certificate. It's a training day though, so just rock up and do as they tell you.

Next, if you want to take it further and get a licence for bigger bikes, the first step you take is the Theory Test. There are two parts. First bit consists of a load of multiple choice questions. Most of them just need a bit of common sense, but some might need a bit of study, if you've never been on the road before. Second part is the hazard perception test. Basically you watch a few videos on a screen and you have to literally just click a button when you see something that might be a hazard. (TIP - pretty much everything that moves is a hazard).

and also atm im just looking to drive a moped, do i need the theory test and hazard test for mopeds?

You can't ride a moped till your 16, then you will have too do a CBT first. You cannot ride anything more than a 50cc moped until you are 17 when you can ride a 125cc. If you want anything bigger after that you will need to do a theory and whatever new tests the goverment decides to make you do by then.

Simple Step's To Getting Yourself On The Road At 16:

1 - First Complete a CBT, Basic training can take up to 7 hour's.
Depending on your instructor Cost £100

2 - If you have Not already get yourself a Moped, Moped's are limted to 30mph until your 17, You CANNOT take passengers at this level until passed bike test at 17+. Moped's 49cc can be De - Restricted at your OWN risk.

3 - Get yourself some decent bike gear, Good helmet, Decent textile jacket is good for a all around season Moped ( with padding ) Glove's are also essential, i myself have to pair's so when one pair is drenched i can use the other pair.

4 - Insurance for the Bike - go with someone who is good with young people, Lexham are great go on " Go Compare "

5 - MOT & TAX.

These are in no order after Step 1.

And last of all if your actually thinking of riding a Moped on the road RS50 is a bit of a downer as it will always have the Top end off it doing rebuilds, wait until your 17 if you want some serious fun
