PostPosted: 13:14 - 17 Sep 2012    Post subject: Mod 1 Test - Mod 2 Pass :D Reply with quote

So I felt like I was getting a bit left behind, everyone else doing their mod 1. Time to get to it, did mine today. Got a pass. Was not really a comfortable experience, heart pounding at bit to be honest. I can't remember the last time I did an exam or test for anything. The thing is I knew I could do all the manouvers it's just that I also knew it was a test - and that's the bit that get's the heart pumping.

E-Stop was at 62 avoidance at 57 - he said I made it hard for myself by going so fast. I said that I didn't want to fail for going too slow. In all honesty, I felt it was better to open it up then I wouldn't have to worry about the speed at all and any doubt on me 'not stopping quickly enough' would be eliminated by factoring in the speed.

For my mod 2 (not booked yet) do I need to take the test report for mod 1 or just the pass certificate?

Well done buddy Thumbs Up

Don't worry about it, you have passed MOD 1 now leave it behind,
just focus on the test report, and try and incorporate the test report into your everyday riding Thumbs Up

Congrats on the pass. You only need the cert.

You must have really gone some round the bend to get to 62 on a 125 Karma

Now just need a quick cancellation, and you could be looking for a new bike at the Copdock Show Wink

Well done!

It really isn't that hard is it....its just the nerves that kick in and all of a sudden the things that are easy normally just become problematic in your mind.

I think my 3 runs through the Speedo (control stop, em. Stop, swerve) were 51,51,50.....god knows how I got it so close cos I never once looked at the Speedo...just took bend at 20.mph and then opened the throttle in 2nd and miraculously I hit the speed trap at the right speed.

For me the avoidence one was the hardest,it had just started raining so I was concentrating on making sure I didn't over swerve and slide off!

It's great reading all these Mod1 successes.

Yeah, instructor says it could be as early as Friday as they have mod 1 and mod 2's under way starting from today. He said someone might fluff the mod 1 leaving a space for the mod 2, but he'll try and book asap.

Knowing my luck I'd come away from the Copdock show with a monster 'build your own' bike ... Wink

My instructor wanted me to stop practicing because I was getting more and more worked up about failing and I was actually getting worse because of it.

Riding home tonight after work I felt so much better, almost like - dare I say it - the bike and I were at one. No fumbling, no heavy left foot down - it was pretty much a perfect ride (from my point of view).

Also saw a beautiful Triumph Street while out at lunch...

Thanks!

I really do like the ER6-n, it's comfortable and really does seem to do what you ask of it. I've had a few blasts up the A14 on one and it's ok there but I think it suits town more.

After riding the ER6, my poor little 125 just doesn't seem to have the get up and go... (I do still enjoy it)

Awesome...best of luck buddy.

I've done the same, was booked in for October but looked online and noticed a cancellation for next week and took it!. Squeeky bum time! Haha

Hope the weather stays ok.

Wierd!

I also passed my mod 1 yesterday and got 1 minor for 'not stopping soon enough on the e-stop'. I did get it to 59 though xD.

And I've got my mod 2 booked for Thursday as well!

I can't see myself dramatically improving over the next month or so (the next sensible slot), I ride safe, do all the required checks, so why not.

The only thing is that I'm doing it all on my own, so is there any nuances I need to be aware of before the day? With my car test there were a few quirky procedures for certain things.

Good luck to us both Andy.
