Just want some advice on insurers/brokers as insurance is up on the 125 next weekend,

Basically does anyone know which brokers arnt complete tools about changing bike etc? Just because I wont be on the 125 much longer (I hope) and don't fancy getting fucked over...

I wouldn't call my insurers to change the bike, just to cancel the policy. Then I'd take out a new policy with whoever was cheapest, takes half an hour tops.

It's down to the underwriter, not the broker. You'd have to ask them, you'll only get a lie if you ask the broker.

Sorry for tagging into the thread but might as well ask a question regarding insurance.

Do you need the referall letter for proof of NCB ?
(only asking as my insurance is up on the 14th and still not received a letter from devitt.)

You are normally asked to provide proof of no claims within 14 days of the policy being set up

In the past I have just given my new ins. co. my policy number for the place I need the NCB from, and they just phoned the old company to ask if the NCB is right.

Your best bet is to go onto a quote comparison site and do the quote on the bike that you'll more than likely be changing to once you sell the 125. Then take out the policy on the 125 with this company and then you'll have a good idea what additional premium you'll have to pay by working it out pro-rata. Plus a fee of course.

The cancellation fee with my insurer (Swintons) was £50 but they didn't charge me as I took a new policy out with them, was surprised (in a nice way........Doesn't happen often with insurers).
