Someone please tell me this shit ain't for real.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310374743126?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I keep hearing it's not possible to boost above the original 11hp, although, i have fitted a scorpion exhaust as the stock one was made of toilet paper and have noticed better accelaration from 0-30 Rolling Eyes
I don't think the bike could handle anything extra though and was certainly built with that 11hp in mind.

Will this void my warranty?

~NO our modules will not void out most warranties.

Does it increase or decrease my MPG?

~No, your gas mileage will be the same.

Will this damage my engine?

~Absolutely not. Since the altered signal will always stay within the manufacturer's specifications, there is no way for your engine to be damaged in any way.

Sounds like bollocks to me. Rolling Eyes

Their bullshit.

Same as the shit car one's you get on eBay, for £10 Thumbs Down

This is for car's but may also be for bikes - All they do is trick the ECU to think the air is colder so it place it put's more fuel into the cylinder which means power increase, but really all you get is it being Rich and running like a bag of shit Thumbs Up

What they said... Just a 10p resistor which you fit in place of the air intake temperature sensor.

The main limit to engine performance is the amount of air it gets, tricking the injection into adding more fuel to the same amount of air will make it run rich as Matty K points out.

i know for a fact on car's you get burnt valve's, cylinder bore wash, cat's get bunged up and the Lamba sensors get damaged due to unburnt fuel.

However i am unsure that it would be a total NO GAINER you might experience gain's in lower gear's if anything, but it would not result in any big GAIN. if it did car's and bikes would have them fitted as factory Thumbs Up

Cheers for reaffirming my suspicions about that, i have also seen oversize pistons advertised but dont think theres any extra benefit.

As you can tell, im stuck with a CBF125 till a permanent job comes along, i do plan on keeping it though as a backup/commuter.

Leave it mate not worth the hassle plus you will risk losing money on your CBF, if you want faster get a faster bike Very Happy

A larger piston and larger bore, or a big bore kit would make it faster, but then it would no longer be a 125.

Indeed, if you must have a fast 125 get a 2 stroke.

When I was into bikes the first time around ages 17 few people wanted 4 stroke 125's because they were difficult to tune.

It's pointless doing it with the CBF at Risk of puttin to much on the crank, if you have time & a deep pocket it's very possible to tune Amy 5 stroke, with a 2 stroke its normally just a case of remove and replace with performance part, exhausts, carbon reed blocks, bigger carbs, bigger intakes etc is just the case of small work. If you looking for a reliable 2 stroke to have some fun on I suggest a NSR125 full power (28bhp) the RS125 and mito are more powerful due to them having bigger exhaust ports, due to having such big exhaust ports, any damage to the cylinder head would resort in a top end rebuild.

I like the NSR125, very nice bike and not tuned to the extreme.

My old RXS100 and RD125LC's were both very reliable back in the old days. The RD had been derestricted.

Had a TZR125 as well, and the engine was also reliable... The electrics were not though.

Part of the appeal of bikes to me is that they are easy and rewarding to repair, they also fit in your shed a lot easier than a car does so are ideal for those dark winter evening to keep myself busy.

A 4 stroke might be just too reliable for that. Wink

NSR125,RD,TZR are fairly simlour engine wise, obviously the NSR has Nikosil Plating ( so may the RD but i am unsure ), these bike's all put out simlour power, however the RS & MITO have much aggressive exhaust porting meant for power not reliability.

Most 2 Stroke's it's normally a case how their looked after, if warmed up correctly, Treat it to Good Fully Synthetic Oil , Don't Hold it in red it will last double what a abused 2 Stroke would.

Yeah i agree Thumbs Up

The RD has a plain iron bore. Smile

The RD and TZR were looked after and run on good oil. The RXS100 was my first bike bigger than a moped and was run on cheap Esso oil and thrashed from cold. (Didn't know much difference back then Embarassed )

Never had an issue with it though.
