hi, fistly please move this to correct forum as its not bike related.

i have a 2002 vauxhall combo van with the 1.7 di diesel 75hp td engine, i had it remapped as it was very slow but at the same time returning very very good fuel econemy, after the remap which was done by a 1 man and his van i new it wouldnt be the best map as only downloaded from a laptop anyway i need the van back to standard and instead of paying them a silly amount to put the standard map back on i want to just replace the ecu transpoder and chip.

i understand all about remaps and the cheap ways ect so dont want to get into that in this post and the reason i want back to standard is the 15 mpg im now getting lol.

when i swap the ecu chip and transponder from a matching van will it just start nothing should need programming i.e alarm ect.

Why not buy a cable and download the remap software? Did they remap it or is it a chip?

he remapped my ecu there was no need for a chip to be installed like some, and i took it back as he was happy to put it back for free but when he tried the old software was put back on ok but van wouldnt start and only started on the performance map. therefore id like to just get an ecu chip and transpoder like you would if youd lost your keys ect

Ecu, transponder chip, and the induction loop around the barrel will need changing.

Surely it's cheaper just to have the map changed rather than get hold of all the requirements for an ECU swap and risk immobilising the vehicle?

Your grammar is a bit confusing, but you will need a new ECU, transponder and keyfob chip.

You need to make sure you get an ECU off a van that has the same options as your car too (e.g. aircon, cruise control, etc), otherwise your car will put the engine management light on if for example it can't find an aircon unit because the donor car had one.

well thats my question if those 3 were changed will anything need to be programmed ect, it cant be put back see above.
