kleen air mod

Anyone on here have a zx6.
Since putting on my Carbon Can Co race can I get bad popping as i slow down.
Now while this might sound good if you want to scare the natives after a hour or so riding the novelty wears off.

Someone mentioned carrying out the kleen air mod. Just really trying to find someone who has tried it

Yeah, hear that alot on Herleys with just straight pipes. Must come from having more outlet than intake, maybe?

No idea what the klean air mod is, but it may be possible you have a slight leak in the exhaust.

As such its pulling air in and allowing the unburnt fuel to ignite in the hot exhaust.

Check all teh connections on the can and link pipes.

Sounds like it's running lean. I'm assuming you had the fuelling adjusted to suit the new can?

Popping is due to unburnt fuel getting into the exhaust - not necessarily an indicator of running rich or lean, because a bike engine will often run a bit messy anyway. Lots of cans just do this, and I don't know of a cure for it.

Mine does it all the time. Has done for a year now. Doesn't bother be at all.

Thanks for all your replies. I managed to find the info from one of the ZX sites. It actually involves the total removal of the Zx kleen air system.

Took me hours but it certainly cured the popping.
