You've got £9000 to spend every year, for 3 years, what would you spend it on?

How about 18 iphone 5s?

Not wages! We're assuming here your living costs are paid already. This is £9000 a year to spend on top of what you earn!

Investments, because I'm not a feckless muppet.

If we're not allowed to be sensible, then I'd either get myself a flat in the capital, or finance a shiny car with insurance sorted.

You mean a bedsit within an hour's commuting distance?

A flat within 20 minutes or so (of the City) is doable if you're happy with South London.

Not that commuting distance would be relevant. It's just that most of my friends tend to live around there.

I'd save it up and buy a dodge viper, then with the change I'd get it supercharged. Just for a laugh.

Failing that, something sensible.

You can be sensible if you want, but you don't have to be Smile

The only condition is that your living costs are covered already (since student living costs are covered through maintenance grant/loan), so you can't spend the £9000 on living costs.

<Does some quick sums>

Of course, I don't know how she'd make do with the "pay" cut.

I'd go traveling! Smile

I'm a student right now and I wouldn't spend it on the tuition fees, I'll pay that back once I'm actually earning. For now I want to enjoy myself. Besides, it wouldn't even cover them all. Sad

My tuition fees are already paid off because as a member of the lucky sperm club, I'm still on the £3k pa fees which are actually manageable.

If it was just handed to me with no strings.... straight to the nearest casino and put it all on red.

Wouldnt bother me if i lost it within the first couple minutes as i wouldnt have time to think of anything else and i hadnt earned it anyway so i wouldnt of actually lost anything?

Then when i won, blow the freaking lot on meaningless crap for the bike, baby, wife etc etc.

You seem to have missed the point of the thread. It's 3 x £9k student tuition fees debt, or 3 x £9 of something else. If you are on the £3k system, then you consideration would be between £9k tuition fees or something else!

Its effectively what would you spend the £9k a year tuition fees on? Or would you spent it on going to Uni at £9k a year? It's debt, you will have to pay it back.

A 3 day BCF Festival.

2 years organising.
Main outlays would be for renting a rural site that can accommodate say 500 people. Toilets and washing facilities. Generators to run the 2 stages and the 'dance marquee'.
1 Stage can be quite cheap.. i.e 2x40ft Trailers parallel parked with wheels removed. Or built using scaffold frame, plywood and canvas.
PA system..well I'd hope that all the BCF music people would be able to help pull this off with favours called and cutprice rates etc.
Similarly with the lighting equipment.
Music...That's the easy bit. Why pay for them Laughing There is a plethora of excellent music on tap made by amateurs who after passing the BCF auditions would love to rock/groove/noodle the nights away.

Foodstall vendors etc will contribute to the overall outlay. It will not be sponsored. The whole event will hang on physical voluntary commitments.

TBC: Offroad area. 2 acres of dirt fun..Run what you brung. St John's on site 24hrs a day.

You can't put a price on a memory...Well you can. Confused

[edit] Coke n Whores too Thumbs Up . ...and some cake....Mmmm cakey.

Thats a large site to accommodate the 60 people that'll turn up.

I'd buy a house or a motorhome
