You can get bike track days etc, but they don't normally offer them for bikes for kids that young. Sainsburys has a range of gifts like that at the moment.
Most gifts like that would be done at a tarmac race track rather than off road biking. If you were to ring around some places like that i'm sure most would be willint to hire out a bike for the day for a fee.
Looking online might seem like a good idea int his day and age, but most of the types of places you are looking for will be stuck int he stone age somewhat and likely wont have an online presense.
If all else fails you could allways take him to do minimoto or something (like karting only with TINY bikes ) |

Might be worth having a look at the CAS Honda Off Road Experience as they do off roading days at the Doncaster Moto Park, South Yorkshire, but they don't mention anything about age on their website and all they say is you need to be able to use a clutch so it coulkd be hopefully. |

Thanks for the link Ste. Sadly, when I went to "Booking" I discovered the small print - "It is requirement that you can ride a motorcycle with clutch and gears and that you are at least 16 years of age." |

"Map" hit the nail on the head that time, ron haslams race school would be ideal for him, and I think he could ride a reasonably quick(for a 14 year old) cbr125.
All safe in the knowledge that he isn't on something stupidly powerful. I dont know if its close to you but I'd imagine thats the most suitable track day for a 14 year old
Nice gift to give your son, you should be able to get him to do lots of housework for that kinda present! |

That's absolutely brilliant! And at 14, he gets to play with a CBF250! The only downside is the dates - the first available one which isn't a schoolday is in July, which is rather late for a Christmas present. It's only a month early for a birthday pressie though! That's that one sorted then. Cheers! |

Hi
The Ron Haslam school is one possibility. It is at the Donington track, just south of Derby.
I also understand that there is / was a race school for younger people at Darley Moor. Cannot see anything on their web site but it might be worth contacting them. This ones used Aprilia RS125s.
Also might be worth asking at 3 Sisters circuit near Wigan (closer to you). I know that they can organise under 17 driving tuition their through BSM but don't know if they do anything for bikes.
All the best

May I just say. YOU ARE A TOTALLY COOL MUM!! I wish my mum was that cool. I am 27 years of age and was still bricking it when telling her that I had passed my test and bought a bike. I think the true barometre of how cool a mum you really are was when you got exited that he could ride a 250 rather than a 125.
