Hi i was wondering if anyone has been on an intensive residential bike course from cbt to full bike licence in a week. I have my cbt and have just found a training school in blackburn for a 5 or 6 day course, i am very tempted to do this. Has anyone got any advice on this which would help me decide. Smile

Residential???
That's gotta be costly.
Just do a 3 or 4 day DAS in your local area for up to £600 and be done with it.

This

Most schools do DAS as"intensive" over 3-5 days anyway so this is just adding accommodation costs

Do you get a lot more hours instruction and practice out of it?

How well would you sleep in whatever cardboard walled fleapit they put you up in?

What happens if/when you fail the tests?

Where are you located?

Are you really that far away from a training school or do you have current transport issues?

I'm guessing they're going to be charging a least double the 'standard' DAS course rate (mine cost £524)

This.

If bikes don't come naturally and the CBT takes more than a day, and/or you fail mod 1 on some minor brainfart, then there goes mod 2.

I'd have thought this is a good earner or the school with the coming rush before January, but a crap option for the rider.

If OP already has his CBT then doubt he will have problems, regards to the "Residential" course; can't the CBT place train you Question If you didn't like the CBT centre have you thought about trying another Question

Otherwise if you have the cash to flash and don't want to do a normal das or equivalent 125 course then go for it.

The Guys in Blackburn you're looking at, I imagine is West Pennine? I did my CBT with them and, and had a Mod-1 practice with them also. They were good, very helpful, and taught me what I needed to know. I see them riding around quite frequently too, always seem busy.

My friend did lessons and Direct Access with them and again, nothing but good things to say. If you've got the ability to pass in 5-days, I don't think you can go wrong with WPM.
