New biker thinking about what bike help

Right hopefully going to be taking my test pretty soon and if I pass I'm wondering what bikes are worth getting
as I'm only 19 these bikes will all be restricted but that doesn't bother me too much as speed isn't the appealing thing to me.

I've had good quotes on a GSF600 bandit And things like that
But ive also had a reasonable quote on an r6, it's a lot more than the gsf both to buy and insure, is it worth it or are bandits still a good bike also thinking when I can de- restrict them

Can I ask, if speed is not appealing to you why the hell are you considering buying a R6 ?

Bandit / GSF is a good choice for a " first big bike "

All depends on what you want really and what money your looking to spend...

So an r6 isn't the one to go for basically because it's only good qualities are going fast? And I would be removing this quality?

Any other good bikes then other than the gsf I want a bit of choice and something to compair

Insurance will be a knightmare.

To be honest i reccomend getting a Bandit 600/650 then Re stricting that then once you feel safe, De - Restrict it, then once your bored get a R6 try and get at least a Year's No Claims first before getting a R6 Very Happy

Always read the small print with insurance.

Qoute may seem very good price however their good be a hidden excess or limted milage a year, their has been plenty of thread's on here about insruance scam's Thumbs Up

My advice would be if your keen on the R6 go for it, btw don't use go compare for first time insurance, go with the bike insurer ring someone like bennets then someone like hastings and say i have hadf a cheaper qoute, and they will match it, they will do everything to get your doller Very Happy

Insurance on Suzuki bandit - 500 a year
Insurance on r6 -1800 a year

I'm new to bikes so need more suggestions for some other bikes to try quotes on

Try a GS500F. That should be your cheapest option, or thereabouts. Then work out how much more bike you want, bearing in mind it'll be 25kW either way.

You have many more years of biking ahead.

Bide your time, get 1 or 2 years experience and NCB on your license, or until your restriction ends, you can pick and choose pretty much what you want then, at a fair price.

Unless you are loaded, then just go for it now!
