how to clean your helmet visor ?

hey guys, it maybe a dum question but as I have never cleaned my visor and I'm starting to get trophies building up (bugs) what's the best thing to clean it with. im scared to use any sort of cleaning chemical incase it reacts with the plastic or scratches it. I guess washing up liquid and a sponge would be ok? what do you use?

Others may disagree but I use orange juice in a washing up bolt then with some hot water to dilute it, then sponge down your visor ( make sure sponge is clean )

Fold a kitchen towel in half, moisten in and stick it to the visor. Leave for a couple of minutes then wipe the visor with it.

Dry it off with a second kitchen towel. Job jobbed.

Those little bits of exoskeleton from the insects will scratch the visor if you wipe it when it's dry. hence the damp kitchen towel.

I like to use a fine spray water bottle and wipe with a damp J-cloth after a few minutes.

Mrs pinky keeps a diluted bottle of Stardrops with some vinegar in it. That works a treat. Smells weird but cleans well.

Personally I used to use wetwipes if we have any. If not, wet toilet paper.

I rarely clean mine now, I mostly leave the bugs on there. They get cleaned off when it rains!

I use Autoglym visor cleaner. I wouldn't have bought it myself but it was a present a couple of years ago and I still have half a bottle left. Just fill the smaller spray bottle and take it out with you. When needed just spray on and wipe off, it gets rids of all bugs straight away and leaves no smears.

With how good it is I would buy it again when it eventually runs out.

Its funny but I worried about this when I started riding buit not these day. I use cheap specticle wipes from Lidle, they're cheap and you can carry a few packets I your pocket and they're really good if you get a particularly large bug or particularly small child stuck on the visor
