If i wanted to trade my car in which the dealer valued at let's say £5k against a car that was £2k, would they take my car and give me the £2k car + cash?

I have asked a few people at work and no one really knows.

I have only ever bought a car worth more than my trade in!

Ha, I don't know Thinking

I doubt it for some reason.. ring up and ask Laughing

Thumbs Up

I think what would actually happen is they would give you a diabolical price for your 5k car, e.g 3 grand.

Then with that you buy the 2k car.

Thumbs Up

I don't know.

But I know who might.

The dealer?

But if only there was a way of starting communication over a distance.

They'd sell you their car at a 'we-steal-any-car' price plus X2 % margin.
They refund you the balance of your trade-in which would be valued at a 'we-steal-any-car' price minus admin.

So yes, traders will trade if the price is right (for them).

This is all theoretical, haven't seen another car yet, was just musing as to whether they would cough up the dough Smile

Yeah they give you some cash back but i know they also take some of your % percentage your car's worth,

I presume the more money " the wanted " car is worth the better it would be.

Basically the more money they give you back the bigger % they take.

So it's best to try and find something that doesn't require them giving you huge amounts of money back.

I kind of figured it would work like that. Basically, I'm gonna lose money if i try this route rather than selling privately.

all depends on the Dealer to be honest what his Percentages are...

To be honest it's SO much better selling privately if your in NO rush,
you will get a good price if you wait until the right buyer come's along.

Advertise it for good money not to much NOT to little because you have to bare in mind you will get people coming to view it who will try and make a deal.

eBay is good if your ok with Paying fee's, if listed on eBay, make sure you list it good not like some retard teenager has wrote it.

All put no time wasters or Tyre kickers, also put a reserve on it.

if you need any help feel free to PM me.

Matt
