Just started (Mon 8:30pm). Tonight they're claiming to have a superbike v supercar raceoff. They haven't given the details of the vehicles yet...

It's repeated tomorrow at 7-30pm as well.

So, it was a Lamborghini Gallardo against a Ducati 999...

and the Ducati wins by 0.44 of a sec. The laptimes were 49.69 for the Lambo and 49.25 secs for the Duke.

Also... the Duke is around 10 times cheaper than the Lambo. Very Happy

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

4/10ths of a second?

Looking at the circuit I think a fast 600 or a 750 would have been even quicker. It's been shown that on smallish tracks the 600s are quicker than their 1000cc cousins because of braking and faster turning.

how bloody pointless. wet track. Mild sedated gibbon riding it. backing it out round a corner under braking... WTF? Thats a trick not a racing technigue, under power maybe, but bloody not off the rear brake.

Dry track, John Reynolds, and a 'supercar' that costs 12k. Then well see. Rolling Eyes

Fucking cagers Laughing

Like bonny said, you wouldn't need to spend any more than an ok car to get yourself that will at least match a 1/4 of a million £ car...

What really is the point of these so called "races". What are they trying to prove or disprove.
We had an all honda fixed race recently with a boat they knew could only do 70mph, an F1 car and a slightly modded honda bike. They could have made it a bit fairer by scrapping the boat and using an F1 and a moto gp bike. However, Would not do for a honda gp bike to lose even to a F1 car so its better to say the slightly modded road bike is almost as fast as a F1 car. Nice bit of promotional advertising there.

Now Clarkson the pillock jumps on the bandwagon, and whats this one proven, Nothing except to say its possible for us nutty bikers to get a vehicle 10 times cheaper and faster than a supercar. Sounds like another way for the dreaded curly man to have a snipe at bikers.

Maybe we should e-mail him and ask if he would like to put his new ford GT up against a fully loaded cg125 to show how great a star he thinks he is.

You're getting your car programmes mixed up. This was Fifth Gear again not Top Gear, i.e. Tiff, Vicki etc... (and Vicki is into bikes Cool )

So I am.

Point is still valid though. These races may be entertaining but prove nothing.

Apologies to Vicky

And Clarkson is still a prat
