Another Mod 2 passee....Get in!!

Just got back from my Mod 2 and I'm relieved to say I passed.... Pheww!

Chuffed to bits to be honest.

Ive gone from never having been on a bike to full licence in a day under 2 months and not a single lesson. I can't believe it to be honest.

Spose I better get out there and take them L's off.

Excelent news! and does go to show it can be done. Sometimes hearing everyone on the forums stressing over the tests does make them seem more daunting but seeing someone just go for it and have an educated bash at it makes me feel a bit more optimistic.

Oh, one slightly 'funny' thing that happened during the test.....

You know how everyone says "if you go the wrong way, don't fret, just continue with your wrong turn but safely"

Well having had this drummed into me by EVERYONE , I'm on my test and heading down a one way street (the right way, before anyone asks ) and I thought I heard him say "take a right at the end of the road" (the earpiece was on 'deaf b*stard setting and was booming the instructions to distortion)...so I do all the obs and indicate, move to the right side of the road (it split into 2 lanes by now, left and right)....only to hear "no, take a LEFT, not right"....I was like "no chance mate, I'm not going against advice and cutting across the lane here and getting a fail..NO WAY.....so I continued to the end of the road as if to go right.....and then I hear SHOUTED LOUD..."LEFT LEFT LEFT, GO LEFT" ...at this point I'm thinking what's up with this Dick? I'm gonna go right but correctly.

Anyway, he ends up making me go left (at which point I was convinced he was gonna fail me for getting it wrong then having to edge the bike into the left lane) so he then says "pull in at the next available place" so I do...he comes over and asks if the earpiece is working ok...to which I said yes but loud and I thought back there that you said right and once committed I was advised not to frantically change lanes etc to correct it.....he said.....

"Oh no, I've not marked you down, you did the right thing but I didn't know where the road went going right and I didn't want to get lost"

WHAT??? you shouted down the earpiece like a demented twat just cos you didn't want to get lost (i didn't say that too him)....I felt like saying "mate, you'll generally find that going right, right and right again will bring you back to the same road"

It got my back up to be honest cos it made me so edgy cos I really thought by the way he was shouting that I had failed....but all it was was that he didn't know where the road would end up if we went right.

Bit of a old numpty examiner to be honest.....and he followed in a car not a bike (wussed out cos of the rain?..probably...or forgot his Werthers Originals!)

I got one minor for not overtaking a road sweeping lorry in a country lane. Bloody annoying because I have never ever seen one before in a country lane lol. I figured it was best to pick up a minor for hesitation than fail for overtaking and make a car have to stop or something coming the other way.
