Yes finally i have beaten my nemesis....That dreadful roundabout i hated with passion. Today i overcame that fear and must say was well pleased with myself to be able to use that damn roundabout not once but twice haha.

When I decided to get a bike earlier this year roundabouts were my biggest fear. Don't bother me now even in the wet where you just have to remember to go slow and steady. There will always be tricky things to deal with though. There is a turn into a siude road I do nearly every day and I still muck it up or at least feel awkward turning into it. Problem is it has an island just before its junction and barriers around the corner so you can't lean to get a nice fast turn and so you either go super slow feeling like an arse or if you do go quick you run dangeroiusly close to the island. I HATE that corner and have to force myself to use it.

Biking eh, tsk!

There's one of those close to were I live and on the way back home after passing my CBT I had to go through them, as unbeknown to me at the time, with not having riden or drove on the roads before, there were no right turns on my planned route back home, so had no other option than to just go for it. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be tbh.

In fact, I have found most people are so terrified by this double roundabout that they all stop and hesitate. Which means, if you're confident and aware enough, you can usually get through both of them without the need to really slow down too much and rarely have to stop. Very Happy
